Any one tried those dusk to dawn body clock thingies??

If so, any good?

Am off sick from work with yet another fecking cold/cough and I doubt the dark mornings are helping me - I'm in a deep sleep until the alarm goes and feel like hell when I wake up so want to do something about it and think a clock like this will help

I've had a lumie bodyclock for about 3 years and it's brilliant.

It really helped me in the dark winter mornings as you're gently woken up by the light and also the alarm is quite soft.

Yes that's the one I was thinking of getting - the basic one though - £50 or do you have the more advanced one? Not bothered about the alarm or radio as am deaf, I just want the natural sunlight...I find I'm so much better in summer and I HATE the dark winter mornings....

Puss I'm looking to sell mine (haven't used it since I started working from home and tend to get up when I feel like it ).

Will sell for £25 plus postage if you are interested.

This is the one I have

I have the Bodyclock Classic from Lumie and I have a GoLite M2.

The bodyclock is okay. I find it easier to get up than without it, but for me it isn't a substitute for a decent light therapy box.

My main problem with it is that a) it's too easy to be facing the wrong way and not really be aware of it getting brighter and b) I still need the radio part to wake me up.

However, once I've woken up by radio, then I can consciously turn over and face the light to help me become more alert. The sunset thing to get into sleep mode at night is rather nice too.

Basically though, if I don't wanna get up, then it's fairly easy to ignore it and snuggle deeper under the covers

We've got the same one as in chequersandchess's link I think. It does help but I am still a bit prone to falling back to sleep again if I'm not careful. But I wouldn't not have it now it is here and I was a bit sceptical, DH went and got it.

Chequers - thanks for that and at the risk of sounding a total twunt, I'd rather buy from new as I have terrible luck with things I buy 2nd hand going wrong! But thank you anyway

Dh bought me one for our anniversary. It really is good - although I find that the light wakes me, and as it starts around 30 mins before the alarm, I've had a few early mornings!

The birdsong alarm that goes with it works well too - until the children start squealing at me to strangle the birds!!!

No problem Puss.
