I have a superking fitted electric blanket - it's fab and has extra heat for your feet. Ill see if I can find it.

dd has had one on her bed for years Yorkie ( since she was dry); an underblanket that we switch off when she gets in.

SkreamingSkramble · 01/11/2008 22:38

this one

ChasingSquirrels · 01/11/2008 22:38

we had one in the house we used to rent, it had no realy heating and was freezing, I had the blanket on a plug in timer so it came on about an hour before we went to bed - bliss!
Still have it, but not sure if it will still be safe 15 years later?

dramaqueen · 01/11/2008 22:39

It's this one. You can leave it on a gentle heat while you go to sleep and it switches itself off after 2 or 4 hours. It also has dual controls.

Kerrymum, I really don't see how an electric blanket can cause cancer. You may as well say that a bedside light causes it as well, or an LED alarm clock. It's electricity, not radiation. I'm more worried about the fire risk (although I would love one - an electric blanket, not a fire)

Only if you sleep with it on (which we don't). If you have no central heating and electric blanket (on for an hour before you go to bed) is a godsend. I'm more worried about the transformer outside our house when it comes to e/m fields tbh.
