I like the mamas and papas twinkle diamond one but would prefer to pay a bit less than £60.

oh no, jewellery for babies! Is it a religious thing? If not barf barf and double barf

robinpud · 28/10/2008 20:16

I think you could make a nice one from your placenta if you still have it..

MrsBadger · 28/10/2008 20:18

doesn't look religious to me

Whats wrong with them? Both of mine have had silver christening bangles from a young age.

I had one when I was little too, I still have it to this day - amazing to think I used to fit it as its so tiny!

LittleMonkeysMummy · 29/10/2008 21:30

I'm with you Pippinella. I got one for my first birthday and I'm planning to get one for my DD on her first birthday. Wouldn't neccessarily put it on her but it's a lovely keepsake for when she's older.

ramonaquimby · 29/10/2008 21:33

keepsake?

but what do you actually do with it?
I think maybe I'm not very sentimental about actual 'things'

People provide their thoughts and opinions way too easily! It's up to you as a parent if you wish to put jewellery on your little one. As long as they are supervised (which they should be anyway!!) There is no problem. It's very common in my culture to have jewellery on infants. I had a few solid gold pieces that I wire everyday - bracelet and tiny stud earrings. They have made the most beautiful heirloom that I have passed down to my own daughter.
