dd1 is quite big for her age (4.5) and she's already grown out of some of the age 5-6 boden things, iirc

motherinferior · 08/03/2005 10:46

CD was asking this; personally I do find the sizes big but my children are shortarses, and DD1 is a skinnymalink shortarse too.

(God, I make them sound repulsive, don't I - they really are rather fetching, just small.)

bundle · 08/03/2005 10:47

they are v fetching. my dd1 is chunky which also sounds not as pleasing as she actually is...

OldieMum · 08/03/2005 10:51

The tops are a bit small on dd, but then she is a longarse, with little stumpy legs beneath (just like her father). Her body is already too long for Boden size 2-3 and her legs are too short for anybody's size 2-3. But she's beautiful.

Pumpkin Patch is great for adjustable waists - my dd 7 is skinny, with no bottom and is very tall, and these are the only trousers she can wear without a belt.....

motherinferior · 08/03/2005 11:06

H&M does adjustable waists on some clothes. As does Primark (never to be sniffed at). But I've become an unwilling expert in elastication.

milge · 08/03/2005 11:14

Short on bodies and long on legs - my dd is in 18-24m trousers and 3-4 tops

bundle · 08/03/2005 11:26

most of the trousers i've seen in woolies (also not to be sniffed at) are elastic at the back

motherinferior · 08/03/2005 11:44

DD2 has a wonderful pair of Woolies jeans, handed down from her sister, with truly Bollywood trimmings.

Additional elastic is frequently required in the Inferiority Complex, though. Especially since Dd2 has learned to drop her trousers in manner more suited to Whitehall Farce.

can i also say: H&M have a lovely selection of bright colourful clothes for girls in their new collection..though the boys' stuff did look at little dingy. they even had flowery cotton (t=shirt stuff) dresses for 2.99. marvellous.
