Where can I find a not too expensive cotbed duvet and cover?

I need to get a duvet for DS (he's 2 now) - he's in a cot bed so was going to get a 4.5 tog cotbed duvet. Just been looking on Mothercare website and the duvets are from £20 and then at least £25 for a cover. Would need a couple of covers for when one is in the wash, plus pillows, etc - it all ends up being really expensive.

They sell much cheaper ones in supermarkets but I've not seen any cotbed ones, and the single bed ones seem to be around 10 togs. Would a single bed one be too big and too warm for a two year old?

Ikea are pretty good for that sort of thing.

Ooh, just looked on IKEa website and they are much cheaper - and more choice too! Do you know what tog I should get? Should it be 4.5 or should I get a 9 tog one for winter? Our house does get cold at night, but I don't want him to overheat if his duvet is too warm either!

Ikea are fantastic for cot bed duvet covers (and they're cotton, not just poly-cotton).

I don't know where to buy the duvet except for Mothercare.

Dunelm do them very cheaply.

I agree with Ikea, you can get duvets from there and covers with lovely colours / designs

I bought mine in mothercare, like you say not cheap, and got the mothercare jersey cotton bedsets. Had to buy 2 because of washing etc but must say the quality is really nice. If you find a cheaper duvet then think about these covers, they are so snuggly. They do plain pink and blue.

Vertbaudet, great quality and if you search on the saving money/promotional code threads you will find codes for 20% or more off. The duvet covers are just so cute, too!!!

Be careful with the sizes. The Ikea covers fit the Ikea duvets but they are smaller than 'normal' cot-bed duvets which I think are 120x150cm. Likewise with Vertbaudet - the covers are 100x120cm. I got a 4.5tog duvet from Dunelm for around £9 I think, their covers fit fine and are considerably cheaper than Mothercare - though not much choice. I got a lovely red gingham cover and pillowcase for DD from GLTC but it has little bows on it too so probably not ideal for a boy!
