DD will be 19 months at Xmas, loves 'drinking' ou of grown up mugs so we figure a tea set might be a good pressie.

ELC have a lovely one but its made of wood and reviews arent great.

Where else can i look?

tin one

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/10/2008 22:49

dd has one, very delicate, very pretty china, 65 years old.
She can play with it when she is 30.

Kaplumbagadort · 18/10/2008 22:51

DD's have that tin one. Well, some of it is left.
They put water in it and some bits rusted!

LovelyDear · 18/10/2008 22:55

i love that tin one. bentalls centre in kingston have a bargain discount store and they've got a multi-part plastic pink and purple one, if that helps? looks like v good value, if not the most tasteful.

I have a lovely china one that I had when I was little - played with it ALL the time, it's sat in my "carboot" box waiting to be flogged (still in original box) as I can't see my DS's every sitting down and having a tea party with little white cups and saucers etc with pretty flowers on the side lol

CorpseBrideOfJohnCusack · 18/10/2008 23:35

we hae the emma bridgewater hearts one (and you can get 10% off now via mumsnet I think)

it's lovely. although DS has broken a cup by hurling it with great force from his highchair onto a wooden floor

that tin one is lovely too

postLady · 18/10/2008 23:38

postLady · 18/10/2008 23:39

OP posts:
katylou25 · 19/10/2008 09:01

I got it on ebay (new) for about £15 or £16 I think? Was a christening present for my friends little girl and she plays with it every day!

carrielou2007 · 19/10/2008 14:08

ELC also do spotted one in a box, mine was 7 pounds and they also do one in like a cardboard type carry case (dd also has one so we store it in there!) am useless at links but only got hers about 6 weeks ago?? It says ages 3-6 years dd is 21 months and loves it, it's made of plastic?

Tobermory · 19/10/2008 20:06

woohoo!

Great idea Katylou, have just bought it on ebay for £15 plus post.

Now just need a pyapl/ebay discount code to make it a real bargain!

ja9 · 19/10/2008 22:23

hambo - can't get your link to work... have searched whittards site and can't find a child's tea set - was it def a child's one you linked to?

tassisssss · 21/10/2008 14:05

emma bridgewater does an amazing polka dot one if anyone's looking for a china one.

possibly completely impractial, but I love it!

ja9 · 21/10/2008 15:08

polka dot one is something else - sigh - but can you imagine with my tiled floor. favouring the EB melamine hearts one just now... don't like the idea of rusting tin...

Thomcat · 21/10/2008 15:13

We have this, but due to her obsession with it and taking bits of it out with her it's mainly all been dropped and broken.

So we bought a tin one. It's this one but we have a different colourway. It comes in a little suitcase and is lovely and a year later still played with, unbroken.

ja9 · 21/10/2008 15:33

the tin ones are very very cute.... i could be persuaded... easily.

npg1 · 21/10/2008 17:53

My DD has the ELC pink wooden one. I think it is fab and the fack it's wood is good as very good for their senses and development to have something different to plastic. I have also brought some of the other wooden ELC kitchen things. Why was the review not good?

DesperateHousewifeToo · 21/10/2008 22:36

My dd was given an alice in wonderland china set from whittards but was couple of years ago and can't see it on their website.

Emma Bridgewater one looks lovely too

clouded · 22/10/2008 16:10
