We use one of those, had it since about 6 months. DS loves it as is at table level, nothing bad to say really.

nicolamumof3 · 16/10/2008 16:01

which one did you have?

I use one pretty much like your first one.

Pros: it takes up little space, lets him eat at the table with us, and can be taken out folded flat and quickly attached in cafes etc, so no need to panic about grabbing the only restaurant high chair.

Cons: it needs machine washing cos it gets a bit crusty , and then takes an age to dry because of the padding, and there is a gap between table and seat down which ds delights in posting finger food.

nicola I had a chicco one for DD2. It had good points and bad:
was unobtrusive, she found it supportive and didnt slide down like in a highchair,I liked the fact she was at the table

But- although it said washable cover we discovered once we had bought it that the cover was a nightmare to get off and washable was hand washable [though we bunged it in the washing machine anyway], The arms were moody and sometimes refused to come off for no apparent reason, Dirt and food gather under the arms and they need to be removed to get it out thoroughly.
The ideal one would have easily removeable covers and they would be machine washable
Oh the straps seemed totally inadequate,we used a mothercare harness.

realised this wont fit on on our table anyway!!

Oh yes it would only fit on one place at our table

Hiya, My sis in law had one of those and ended up getting a cheap ikea chair as a replacement as it wasn't all that.

She also had the chicco one - not easiest to clean when dirty and child's legs dangle in the air (but same prob with ikea chair).

My dd hates using them for long when they have them at restaurants and finds them too easy to climb out of.

Are you considering getting a new highchair / booster?

Mamas and papas do a booster that looks pretty good.

lecohen · 16/10/2008 17:05

actually I am after one of those booster seats myself
