I'm not remotely bunting cupcake and I like it. It's in the Linda Barker catalog, which generally is full of things that would make you smirk if you actually saw them in someone's house. Here it is, what do you think?

LOL at seeker's gradual self-realisation during that post!

policywonk · 15/10/2008 17:36

What do you reckon to these ones then - mismatched vintage china.

CountessDracula · 15/10/2008 17:37

If I went to someone's house and they were under 70 and served me cakes on one of those I would be very

Seeker, anyone who owns a 7-tier cupcake stand is definitely bunting cupcake. If you also have bunting, you are a member of the bunting cupcake royal family. If you actually make your own bunting then you are the queen and your bunting cupcake subjects will bown down to you.

Sirry policy I don't like those.

Comeoveneer I have made a cake stand for one of dd birthday cakes before when we made a cupcake dancing princess for every guest and displayed them.

expatinscotland · 15/10/2008 17:39

i like that, bran!

i got a pink one with white polka dots in TKMaxx a few years back for a tenner, though.

bran · 15/10/2008 17:40

policywonk, those are gorgeous. I wonder how easy it would be do DIY a cakestand.

Ooh, a mixed response then.

They're not mine - a friend of mine makes them. You have to have a special drill bit apparently, but other than that I get the impression they're fairly straightforward - her dad knocks them up in his shed.

twinsetandpalls · 15/10/2008 17:42

I have a very cheap IKEA one that I have at school and when a class is good I serve them homemade cakes from my cakestand - they love it!

Am about to bake for my AS group and they can have cakes from my new stand.

twinsetandpalls · 15/10/2008 17:44

policy I quite like the the rosebud one without the baubles though

seeker · 15/10/2008 17:45

policywonk, I love those! My new acrylic 7 tier has paled into disappointment, and it hasn't even arrived yet!

twinsetandpalls · 15/10/2008 17:45

Am not rteally geting the teacup on top though,

policywonk · 15/10/2008 17:47

Good-oh seeker! Maybe I'll get my friend to post a small business ad here (although I think she's sold a lot of her stock at the mo).

No, I don't really understand the teacup business either. Maybe for petits-fours or summat?

bran · 15/10/2008 19:37

They would look just as good and be more useful if the top tier was just the saucer or a small plate. They are very cute though.

A friend is buying me This One for my birthday and was so excited about it she couldn't wait to tell me!

twinsetandpalls · 15/10/2008 19:44

Shiny that is cute as well.

LittleMyDancingWithTheDevil · 15/10/2008 19:45

I have one of the ones in the OP

a friend bought it for me last birthday, along with six mini bottles of Babycham. it was an homage to kitsch....

seeker · 16/10/2008 07:13

I really am turning into my mother (the bunting-cupcake Empress - she used to knit us socks with fancy turn over tops). I am looking at all these wonderful stands but thinking "Where would I keep it when I wasn't using it?"

LittleMyDancingWithTheDevil · 16/10/2008 08:59

Ours is on top of the fridge, gathering dust.

When we're not using it = 100% of the time, sadly. We don't lead a bunting/cupcakes lifestyle.
