Duvet covers for a boy's single bed - can anyone help me find a nice one?

John Lewis has left me underwhelmed - and GLTC seem to have cut their range. I'm trying to avoid tv characters and designs that will be considered too babyish within a couple of years. (biggest DS is 4). Really not keen on spending more than 35 pound either - so no Cath Kidston cowboys and co-ordinating bunting.

Anyone bought one recently?

Babyface designs have a good range

Aspace have nice ones.

Argos have some okay stuff too.

WendyWeber · 29/09/2008 09:52

Next?

WowOoo · 29/09/2008 09:53

Yep, from John Lewis though!!

Don't forget to look in non-children's sections.

I just got bold stripes. It looks great and can go in any other room as has no obvious 'I am a child's duvet' things on it.

I know what you mean though. He saw a Thomas one and I just had to move away from that shop swiftly!

nappyaddict · 29/09/2008 09:56

this? you can just turn it over to the stripy side when he gets older.

WendyWeber · 29/09/2008 09:57

la redoute have lovely stuff - this is the children's section but they usually have some great colourful stripes/spots etc in the general range.

linenstore

Thanks all - some great ideas there. I have a Wall-e free shortlist for his perusal! (Why do I always like the most expensive ones best?).

WowOoo - I was looking for bright stripes - but could only find one that was predominantly pink on JLewis. Have you found something else?

Ikea?

GooseyLoosey · 29/09/2008 10:31

Ikea have some nice stuff here and here.

Very reasonable and so far seem to last OK.

ClosedForCleaning · 29/09/2008 10:35

I can't be trusted in Ikea. I still have about 25 years supply of tea-lights and a surplus of small wooden boxes. Plus,
it's a dime-bar and meatball death-trap.

SOme nice ones here, I just bought the Noah's Ark for my DS1 (nearly 4) and it was on offer at £21, their quality is fab too. The alphabet one is nice as well, as is the striped one.

There is poor choice for boys I agree if you don't want Thomas/footie or blue checks!Aspace is also worth a look?

GooseyLoosey · 29/09/2008 10:39

What is it about Ikea's tea lights? I too have a cupboard full of them and absolutely nothing to do with them!

jeee · 29/09/2008 10:42

TK maxx?

ClosedForCleaning · 29/09/2008 11:11

Thanks Pannacotta - have skipped the fake democracy and bought Noah too!

Great minds and all that!!

Sawyer64 · 29/09/2008 11:13

Try THIS

Sawyer64 · 29/09/2008 11:18

Or this tends to grow with them HERE

OllieWollieWoo · 29/09/2008 21:02

OOoooooh - I like the Noahs Ark one from Feather and Black but think it must be out of stock as not listing prices/sizes! What colour is it - mainly white with multi-coloured animals? Picture doesn't make it v clear!

Pannacotta · 29/09/2008 22:15

Ollie is is white with a wide band of varius coloured embroidered animals across the middle, very sweet.
Might be worth calling them to order, there were lots of sets in my local branch so not sure it can be out of stock, think it might just be that they have a duff website.

OllieWollieWoo · 29/09/2008 22:21

Thanks for that Pannacotta - will do cos the prices etc are just not showing and its sounds just what DS (ok, I mean me) has been looking for!!!

Dottoressa · 29/09/2008 22:22

White Company? They're reasonablyish priced if in the sale!

Linz2 · 30/09/2008 14:22

Hi currently using a 4.5 tog for my almost 3 year old son and despite wearing shorts pjs in bed he can still get a bit sweaty. I am considering purchasing a Mothercare acclimatiser duvet and pillow which are for all round use and very expensive!! So would really appreciate any feedback from anyone who already has one or knows of any reviews on them

Thanks

WendyWeber · 30/09/2008 16:53

Aspace (website was down yesterday)

MrsMattie · 30/09/2008 16:55

Ikea. Got some surprisingly lovely brightly coloured ones with funky designs - also dirt cheap, wash well. I bought DS three sets for £40.
