Mountain buggy (double) for newborn...any chance of getting your baby out still asleep

when you remove a carrycot from the frame or is it cumbersome? No way of checking as we don't live near somewhere that sells them.

DS tends to wake up when we take a carseat off his current buggy and i wondered how easily the carrycot is removed from the MB. Thanks. Dull question but one that I really need help with otherwise we could buy a P and T. I'm less keen because of how low your baby is but I see that has a removable cocoon...

It's not that easy to get on or off, pretty noisy and jerky - not recommended with the baby still in it.

I would still get a MB over a P&T. I've had both, I loved my MB so much more than my P&T. They don't stay in the cocoon for long so I wouldn't buy it for that reason over the MB.

ah that is interesting spudballoo. i guess there is no perfect pram (one with a carrycot that is easily removed with baby still inside!) that can carry 2 kids - baby and toddler, is lightweight and moves like a dream (someone out there should make one eh - would make a fortune with all the pram devotees out there!)... still the MB sounds briliant and looks gorgeous. Was pondering on P and T so thanks for that tip. I still always remember that MNet comment about the seat below looking like your kid is in your shopping basket!

Why don't you buy a cocoon type thing and use it in the MB carrycot?

mumeroo · 27/09/2008 22:34

I could borrow a friends.. not a bad idea. Do you know if the cocoon will fit CarGirl? Have no idea? sorry for barrage of questions... does anyone know if the MB is good on a pebbly beach? Was considering the urban not the terrain but would be really useful to know.

I think the MB would be as good as it gets on pebbly terrain as you can probably lock the wheels to fixed? If you can measure the inside of the carrycot there are quite a few cocoon type carrycots out there, Graco do one.

MB is great on pebbly terrain. Also reckon it's better over the P&T as once the baby can sit up and look around they want to really see what's going on - suppose it depends on your age gap really.

Don't think the carrycot on the MB is easy to remove though....

thanks cargirl and pollyfinders. I think MB looks fantastic. am now worrying about getting into shops though as live in small town and worried about getting through doors... am thinking of P and T now even though hate the fact that your baby is so low down (that has put me off all along and the fact that your child can't just look straight ahead but must look to one side or the other...
wish the MB was a little less wide or could test run somehow!
