Your advice needed please. I?m going to a wedding in May and need to update the only decent outfit I have in my wardrobe that fits me post baby. It's a winter white jacket, softly tailored and black linen type fabric trousers. I have black shoes and black/white bag but I need a new top. The one I have is too wintery. What do you advise? It has to go over a nursing bra (you all know how glamorous they are ) so nothing strapless, halter neck or too flimsy please.

I forgot it's Mothers day next week!

My present must be a trip shopping I think!

If you're really, really strapped for cash, NewLook is good for a trendy top. Might be worth it to have a browse round TESCO or ASDA as well.

OOOh that kimono top is gorgeous!!! Suspect i would look like a sack of potatoes tied in the middle though. I can look terrible even in something that cost £120.

You guys have such good ideas though. Am tempted by that M&S cardi (never thought i would say that, even at my age). Can't remember when I last bought something from M&s except the Per Una range

One question - Trinny and Sus told me i shoudlnt wear wedges because i have skinny ankles and legs.

The one part of me that doesn't seem to be storing fat for Bf.....

I was surprised by M&S cardi too! I usually don't like their stuff, but thats FAB, I would get it in the mint colour.

Forget T&S if you have nice legs you can wear anything on your feet

If you are wearing trousers nobody will see your legs.

That is unless they are drainpipes, then maybe no to the wedges.

ROFL Demented - no they are not drainpipes - they are tasteful straight leg black linen trousers. Maybe called palazzo pants? I am so top heavy , if i wore drainpipes & wedges I would look like I was falling over

Go for some strappy sandals then KM.

Go mad and get that Kimono top, I dare you. Just one thing don't tell me if you do because I will be rather jealous!

Another thing I have just thought of is that Topshop have their own personal shopper service now so you could go in and get some ideas.

I would second a camisole/cardi-thing combination. I went to a wedding when LO was 10 weeks and had humungous breasts and the nursing bra problem. I found a camisole with thicker straps if that makes sense and got the matching cardi to go with it (in a very similar green to one in the link). It wasn't what I would normally go for but felt good and the cardi was helpful for more discrete feeding! I got my bits from East, quite expensive but DH treated me.

Thanks Pootlepod, have never tried East but will have a look when i am in town. Is it pseudo ethnic, a bit like Monsoon? Please tell me its cheaper?????
