I ordered some wooden letters to go on ds's door. Stupidly I went for cheapo ones and when they arrived this morning they're awful! The paint on them is crap, and some of them haven't even been cut out straight.
Anyway, I want to send them back, but I have to pay for postage to send them and they say they won't refund that.
But the main thing that has pissed me off is that they charged me £3.50 delivery on them, and the package only has a 47p stamp on it!!!! Are they actually allowed to overcharge on postage like that?????

sounds like a con to me! Had been thinking of getting some of these, where did you order them from? some places will send you a replacement product(the same or different) without charging postage.

Did it come in incredibly expensive packaging?! (The charge will be for postage and packing.) I think that's really shoddy and they should refund the cost of the item PLUS postage. I'm about to start a thread on bad mail-order service myself so I sympathise.

This happens alot as they seem to avg out the costs so some of us overpay and some of us underpay. I don't think it's fair on light, small order. FOr instance GLTC charge a std p&p which came to more that the order. That puts me off and makes me

They can charge what they like for P&P. The principle is that they have to buy the jiffy bag or other packaging material, make the parcel and walk to the post office.
Some items on ebay are sold at 1p with (say) £2.50 P&P. The seller's profit is on the packaging only.
Regarding the cost of returning the goods - what were the terms of sale?

I guess it's my own stupid fault.
I bought them from a place called niknaktoys.co.uk
they were packaged in a plastic bag with a bit of bubble wrap around them.
I suppose I should have paid more attention to the terms of sale and stuff, but I've bought so much stuff online without a problem that I never really thought about it.
I am just really annoyed, and disappointed
