anyone had either of these? are they heavy to push and lift up/down kerbs in rear facing mode? what are they like to bump up and down steps?

I have had the Bebe Confort Trophy Air with Opera seat unit (i think!).
Lovely pram and much lighter to get up kerbs than a Pliko, even rear facing. Okay for bumping but obviously not the lightest pushchair. Can't remember the brakes getting in the way.
Not a manouverable pushchair though. Felt like it should have been fixed wheel but was made to swivel as a feature IYSWIM. The frnt wheels just weren't very 'swivelly'.
Also suffered from the Bebe Confort tipped don seat, where LO looks like they are going to slip off all the time. Having said that DD always seemed comfy and looked soooo comfy sleeping in it.

AccidentalMum - what is it like to steer one handed?

Not a very steerable pram with 2 hands to be honest. It was much more akin to eg a M&P X-cel chassis than the MPX chassis, even though it had swivel wheels. Saying that, prob nice to push down the road with one hand, not trying to go everywhere else, see.

sorry, what do you mean by "nice to push down the road with one hand, not trying to go everywhere else, see."

Sorry...I mean that if you just want to go in a straight line a less manouverable pram requires less input from the pusher to keep it in a straight line.

have the elite with opera seat and (at first) windoo carrycot- trying to sell it if intersted.... Anyway- I loved the old style style of it and found the suspension brill for little ones. My ds slept like a dream in it (with carrycot on). Very easy to turn frmo rear to forward facing and the seat is very comfy. They are not a light pram/pushchair though (not like say a maclaren) but I live in a very hilly area and never had any problems with it. We've been given a mountain buggy (lucky me ) so have swapped to that now, the difference is you can hit curbs at a pace with the mountain buggy and it just seems to cope with all terrains.... but then I gather they cost 500 quid new

hi there,
strangly just got the whole combo out of the loft (we are having free insulation -yeah!). So have been lifting it about a bit. I would say no more than 3 or 4 steps upto a house..... a whoe flight might be a struggle.
AND if you make me a reasonable offer I can sell you the whole lot

nappyaddict · 12/01/2009 00:36

does it steer well one handed?

OP posts:
AccidentalMum · 12/01/2009 00:54

No! Why don't you believe me!?

nappyaddict · 12/01/2009 22:51
