Am looking towards Christmas presents for DS and he is recently very into Playmobil, am thinking of one of these. Anyhow, they are similarly priced and see you can get extensions for both.

So which is best? I know you all love Playmobil so expect answers!!!

Oh my God have just been drooling over the Egyptian stuff. LOL at the Amazon link - they're selling the pyramid for £89.99 and just below it there's a link to a site selling it £20 cheaper. On that site you can get a 9 box Egyptian set for just over £200...

Nemoandthefishes · 07/09/2008 14:11

ohh we have the safe crackers to go with the abundance of police stuff..lol

LazyLinePainterJane · 07/09/2008 14:14

Do you? I love them, it's that sort of stuff that I love about playmobil, like the vagrant and the airport security men

that pyramid at 89 pounds is expensive from Amazon! It's just 80 euros here (although I thought that was expensive enough).

We do tend to get new playmobil realised earlier in Belgium then in England.

ClareVoiant · 07/09/2008 17:16

LLPJ, did your ds have any playmobil before his 3rd birthday? I've just bought the campervan for ds's 3rd birthday in a couple of weeks, but afaik he hasn't played with playmobil before. am really hoping he'll like it.

it was a toss up between the campervan or the police speedboat that goes in the water. costco have them at the mo. they had the pirate ship last year, but ds was too small!

minorbird · 07/09/2008 17:20

My mother bought DD the mansion last year (shes only 3!) and shes absolutely trashed it! Its the bain of my life, I spend many o evenings building it back up. It's too old for her tbh, even though I put all the tiny peices aside. Maybe an older child would enjoy it though, but I detest it!

madhairday · 07/09/2008 17:24

Have just bought the pirate ship for ds' birthday. He has the aeroplane and helicopter and absolutely loves them, hours of play, he likes putting dd's princess and fairy figures in the aeroplane and 'rescuing' them with the helicopter, lol.
I LOVE playmobil.

tortoiseshell · 07/09/2008 17:25

We have the camper van, ambulance, circus tent (FAB), pirate ship and various bits and pieces.

I would love to get dd the hospital, and ds1 a castle - but may be too many big things.

I wouldn't get a playmobil house - dd has a wooden dolls house which is lovely.

LazyLinePainterJane · 07/09/2008 18:06

Clare, He had a couple of those little carry sets that you get, with a few people and bits and bobs in, they come in their own plastic boxes. He didn't have any big things. He did show an interest but it was only a few weeks before his birthday he started trying to put all his people onto his own play bus (they wouldn't fit).

The camper van is awesome! I think that even if they don't really get into playmobil, something like the van is good because it can be used on it' own merit. And you will spend ots of time putting all the plates and cutlery back under the beds neat and tidy

Think I have decided against a house now. I want one though, with all the bits and extensions and gardens and whatnot

DS also got a little boat that he puts in the bath, he really likes it even though it doesnt really do anything. I know you can gte underwater motors for them!

You could have mine LLPJ but it looks like several ASBO owners live in it. Windows out, half the roof missing, ripped wall paper...

LazyLinePainterJane · 07/09/2008 18:27

I could get 60 minute makeover in to do it up hahahah

LOL dont think even claire sweeney could save this thing!

MilaMae · 08/09/2008 19:24

My son loves the police station as it has a cell to throw robbers in. He loves his police car and get away car. He adores his fire engine(he puts out fires in the dolls house etc) particularly the hose but to be frank I think it's over priced.

We got the hospital on offer last Xmas between all 3,that has a lot to arrange but I wouldn't bother unless he knows what goes on in a hospital.

No to the dolls house,my twin boys are 4 nearly 5 and wouldn't play with it. Dd and I on the other hand would love it

Marne · 10/09/2008 12:48

I bought dd1 this lastnight after alot of thought, i think its more for me than her

Dd has far too much playmobil realy but she spends hours playing with it.
