Would like it to be money well spent though!

We got some of those fisher price cubes, with animals in them. peekaboo blocks or somesuch thing. When that age, he liked us stacking them up, he held them, he also had the farm thing that he could put them into. AT 15mths, he still plays with them, stacking, and peering into them and giggling.

My DB bought my DD a cow wheelybug for her first Christmas when she was around 5 months old. She loved 'pinging' its horns which are on springy things until she could finally use it as a push-along when she started cruising. Now that she's just turned 2, she loves riding on its back.

If you haven't got stacking cups get them!

TillyScoutsmum · 07/08/2008 16:52

DD probably got most use out of her Vtech first steps baby walker. Obviously just pressed the buttons/listened to music when she was younger, then started pushing it around later on and still gets lots of use from it now she's 15 months

Will get some blocks then!
We already have a hand me down walker , what's a cow wheelybug mejon ?

What about this anyone had one ?

Cannot recommend the graco entertainer enough - even at 14 months I still put DS in it if I need him trapped while I sweep the floor etc.and he still plays quite happily in it.

Rain Forrest Jumperoo, brilliant. Put it into a youtube search and watch various happy bouncing babies. DS2 loves his still.

These eggs from Tomy are only £4.99 but consistently popular with children from 0 upwards. Dd still plays mad games with her brother's old set - from 1999.
We have a bee wheelybug and that has been used, and used, and used, as well.

ELC have some wooden blocks with letters/numbers on them

dd2 still plays with these and she is 4 at the end of this month

Marina · 07/08/2008 21:20

how about that for an x-post
Every toy library in the country has them I reckon

georgimama · 07/08/2008 21:20

DS loved the jumperoo (they have one at nursery) but is too big for it now at 18 months, also nursery did say they were pleased he liked it as so many of the other tots hated it!

Second those peekaboo blocks, and also what about one of those kitchen things? A la carte kitchen we had in our day - my mum has been given a second hand one and DS 18 months loves it, can imagine he will play with it for years.

The best toy for longevity has actually been a Barbie camper van which I was given second hand at 7, DS plays with that too. It must be at least 23 years old.

Marina · 07/08/2008 21:20

We had those blocks too olive, in an old-style wooden brick truck with red steel handle. Also popular

lilyloo · 07/08/2008 21:30

The wheelybugs look great think dd1 would love that too!

Will def get the eggs but not sure now on the jumperoo or the activity centre

We have the kitchen , has been well played with already!

I like the Peekablocks Incredicube which we got for DS1 when he was around 7 months old and he still loves playing with now.

It is sturdy enough for little ones to pull themselves up to standing on and has loads of different activities on each side, so more than one can play with it at a time.

georgimama · 07/08/2008 21:41

Good one Marina, DS has a toddle truck with wooden blocks from Early learning centre, it helped him when learning to walk and now he can build towers with the blocks.

Have they been mentioned: one of those little wooden benches or squares with holes in them and shapes you hammer into the holes. V therapeutic for parents too.

ImnotMamaGbutsheLovesMe · 07/08/2008 21:44

Duplo

lilyloo · 07/08/2008 21:49
