Help! Best cheap pram...

I am expecting DC1 and, feeling utterly overwhelmed on the subjects of buggies, bought a Maclaren XLR, as my sister and a childminder acquaintance swear by them. But I can't help but feel that I have chosen the wrong thing. I really, really want something where the baby faces me from birth - I want to see my baby and for my baby to see me. Turns out DH strongly feels the same. So, do I buy a cheap pram that will last six months and then use the Maclaren? Or should I sell the (unopened, unused) Maclaren on eBay and buy something else? But what? The sheer array and the impossibility of getting any sensible advice in shops makes my head feel close to explosion.

Naetha, if I looked at second hand Quinny Buzzes, what would I need to make sure I got in the deal so that I could use it from birth? Had a little snoop and most on ebay seem to come just in the pushchair form, but you can get a carry cot to make it into a pram? Is that right?

And I'mNotMamaGbutsheLovesMe, what sort of Britax is it?

theauthor, congrats on your book. Have to LOL - as I stare at the Maclaren sized box in my bedroom, I do wonder if I might not have spent my money more wisely...

It is the Britax Practicale.

You don't need a carry cot to make the Buzz suitable from birth as the pushchair bit lies flat. Try and get a 2007 or later version as the seat is much more comfy (made of memory foam) and make sure they give you the car seat adapters (for Maxi Cosi car seat).

By all means get the carry cot as well, but we didn't bother as it lies flat and we had the Quinny footmuff as well

Judy - it's funky looking but prob not pretty as it's unisex. pics on here

the quinny buzz has a bucket seat so is only suitable from 6 months without the carrycot although some places will tell you it is from birth.
