sorry need to stop my 8 year old from waking me before 7 so could you please help

We got one from great little trading company, online. but it's a bit young-looking for an 8yo.

I know its a bit young looking BUT

I can't start punishing her for waking me too early unless we have definite rules

and as I consider different times on different days to be acceptable I haven't as yet told her what she shouldn't be doing apart from saying 'do you really think you need to wake me up at this time' every time she wakeds me early
and she says 'I tried to go back to sleep but it took too long'

could you not just put a sticker on a cheaper clock? Also could you go out to get a set of morning books for her to read in bed when you are not ready to get up.

Ds (3.5) understands the concept of little hand above the 7 but simply turns the screw at the back to move the time forward!

Or there's the cheaper version where you put a plugin nightlight in a timer switch. We've put one up high in the dc's room so they can see it without having to really wake up to look at it.

we use a (cheap) digital alarm clock for dd (4.8years) and tell her she cant come through till it says 7:00. I wouldnt get a bunny clock for an 8 year old - its more for a toddler. Before the clock I used fairy lights on a timer and set it gradually later until she got to 7am. She had them from about 2 1/2 and we moved to the alarm clock when she was 3 1/2 (when a bulb went and we couldnt find the replacement ones)

I do agree that the bunny clock is a bit young for the 8 year old but she shares a room with her toddler sister who is 3

they wont be sharing for long but the the 8 year old can beleive that it is the 3 year olds clock but have to abide by it and therefore learn to go back to sleep or read quietly instead of coming to get me the minute her eyes open

Another vote for the kidsleep, we love it, DS1 had it until he was 5yrs old and now his brother has it, he is 2 and a bit!
