Chantelle bedside cot

Does anyone have one? I did a search on here first (hope you're impressed coddy if you're reading this!!) and saw that someone had problems getting the right sized mattress. Has anyone had this problem? Is it a good sturdy cot? Haven't been able to 'meet' it in person, thinking of buying online. TIA.

We had a bedside bed/cot from the bedside bed company

nearly 10 years ago and it is still being used for childminding

new mattresses of course.

was it a cossato (sp) one do you know? I'm happy with the idea of a bedside cot, just don't know if this one is any good or not. I'll look that company up, though, thanks RTKM!!

It is made of wood and can have height adjusted to be very low so cannot be climbed out of when cot.

DS slept in it as a bed too with one wall off.

It is very stong IMHO

The Bed-Side-Bed
The Bed-Side-Bed fits securely against the parents' own bed on the same level, so parents can be very close to their baby while s/he remains in his/her own bed covered by his/her own bedclothes.
More information and price list from: The Bed-Side-Bed Company, 98 Woodlands Avenue, Wanstead, London E11 3QY Tel: 020 8989 8683

Thanks! We don't live too far from Wanstead either so might be doable. Don't drive which might be a problem. I'll give them a ring tomorrow, thanks for all the information.
The cot I was thinking of is on ebay at the mo, which is why I was asking.

Ours was delivered

I can really recommend it

It has been in constant use for nearly 10 years.

It also has lockable castors on the bottom

RTKangaMummy · 06/02/2005 21:01

1 metre 25 cm long

89cm tall

62cm wide

My sil has that exact one. Looks like a really nice bit or furniture I think. She has never used it as a bedside cot though, only as a stand alone. I also had a Cosatto cot, which was just a drop sided one. It was OK but very basic and the wood marked terribly which has made it look rather tatty. They are quite sturdy though. Mine has certainly put up with a lot of jumping from toddlers!

Thank you so much! Yes I thought it looked really nice as a cot on its own too. I am going to try and do a 'gradual extraction' programme with DS to get him in next to me and then actually in the cot on his own when he is a bit older.
We were going to get a cot bed but I have talked DP into the possibility of another so not of such importance now and this one looks lovely. Thanks very much!
