Toddler Boys Pjamas - NOT TV themed, where can I find them?

This is ridiculous, I have googled everything I can think of, gone to every website I can think of and can't find some fun funky non-TV themed pjamas for DS. They just don't seem to exist unless I want to spend £25 for a white old fashioned pair. I like the soft jersey style and am looking for long sleeves and trousers not t-shirt & shorts so maybe I am looking at the wrong time of year but DS really needs some now following major growth spurt! Any ideas on sites I can try? He has some lovely stripey bottoms with a blue top with a red bus which we got from mothercare - the same sort of thing but bigger is what I'm looking for and failing at!

gorgeous ones from Sainsbury's they seem to have new ones in about every 6-8 weeks.
I like them because it isn't a transfer on the front it is aplique (?) stitching.

yeah I've had a look on ebay but nothing suitable at the moment but will keep my eye out. I confess to being a pj snob, yet 95% of the pj's out there for boys don't meet my criteria. It shouldn't matter if they have noddy or bob on them afterall no one sees him, but for some reason it does.

thanks greyskull, unfortunately I live in the sticks and no where near big supermarkets which sell clothes unfortunately.

La Redoute is currently getting my vote, never bought from them before

Agree about Boden, and Primark. Try Cyrillus too - they've got a sale on and the quality is excellent - www.cyrillus.com

rachel riley - ridiculously overpriced but sale on now and 40/50% off - wait a bit longer and think it goes down further. too expensive but last forever, wash like a dream get softer and softer and wonderfully traditional styles.

Weegle - the new Next Directory will be out in the next few weeks, it is usually available from 2 weeks before their sale so that as a Directory customer you get the latest stuff before it hits the shops.

Their sale should be the weekend of 26th (it usually is the last weekend in July) and as it will be the winter directory there will be more choice for PJs.

It will be the same for all other on-line stuff too as everyone offloads their summer stock.

My ds2 has just had a growth spurt and I have got down ds1's stuff from the loft to find 1 short sleeved t-shirt. Am doing mad dash to shops in next couple of days to stock up before it all goes.

chocolatespiders · 10/07/2008 21:36

next sale is 19th july

Pj's in Primark are good. Cheap and wash well

fishie · 10/07/2008 21:38

i don't like shirt and trouser style or massive plastic things stuck on front. is nightmare. gap american style are best but very expensive unless you have a skinny boy, mine still fits in 18m and he is 3.

LazyLinePainterJane · 10/07/2008 21:39

We have had some nice ones from Sainsburys in the past, though they tend to be a bit hit and miss depending on time of year. We have had some lovely skeleton glow-in-the-dark ones that DS loves.

shhhh · 10/07/2008 21:42

Debenhams tend to do nice ones...ds atm is wearing ones that the leggins are like leggings iykwim..they make dh laugh, he looks like he is about to go cycling .
Ever so cute though .

fin42 · 10/07/2008 22:29

If you like Laredoute, have you also looked at Vertbaudet, they have some lovely ones.

nappyaddict · 17/07/2008 01:09

awww fishie why don't you like the button up ones? i think they are gorgeous, especially the flannel ones for the winter.

i too am a character snob though. i try to keep them to slippers, wellies and dressing gowns.

blithedance · 22/07/2008 21:33

I am a PJ snob too! Suggest you stick it out for another few weeks as the winter collections will be in the shops soon and there will be choice from Boden, Jojo maman etc.

Mothercare usually have one or 2 non- character sets tucked away (need to go to shops not website). Their fabric is thicker and softer than cheapie ones too. I got a nice double set last year with knights/dragons on.

I tried boden PJ's for the first time this summer and was impressed actually, for once the quality does live up (partly) to the price.

blithedance · 22/07/2008 21:35

example at Mothercare

wasabipeanut · 22/07/2008 21:38

Those checky White Company ones are lovely. I will be purchasing the next size up when DS grows out of his current set.

nicolamumof3 · 22/07/2008 21:40

jojo pj's are lovely. junior j at debenhams too.
