dyson has died, do I get miele or sebo?

that's it really, had basic upright dyson for years, we have a cat and a dog, and although they don't spend that much time in the house their hairs do seem to get everywhere. I've heard good things about both miele and sebo, but which is best?

Bought a Miele Pet when my Dyson died after reading recommendations on here. It's fab, although I miss being able to see the amount of dirt its hoovered up like you can with the dyson (having to use hoover bags is the only downside, though, IMO). Make sure you get one with the "turbo" brush - it's tonnes better than the normal brush, especially if you have long hair (!) or pets!

Dyson roller ball is the ONLY vacuum cleaner to have! I'm very biased, love mine to pieces after years of a very inefficient VAX. Depends what you want to spend, mine was £280 and worth every penny (DC25 is the model if you are interested)

i have bought the dyson baby ball recently

it is BRILLIANT

and tiny but powerful

the ball makes it very manourverable

Dont buy a new one yet.

My dyson's motor blew up and I looked at their web site thinking I would have to buy a new one, there is a link for repairs so I thought what the hell and phoned.
For £65 I had a dyson engineer out who put a new motor in, a new filter, a new large hose and a new bit for underneath the brush bar.

Its like a brand new cleaner. I was well pleased.

I have had a Miele Cat and Dog and have a Sebo. The Sebo is by far the most efficient. I have a friend who is a carpet fitter and, as such, gets to use all sorts of vacuums for hoovering up after laying a carpet. He fitted a carpet for us and used my Sebo and said it was the best vacuum he'd ever used.

After having a dyson and not being that impressed with it I moved onto a miele.

Its good but buying bags is a bit of a pain.

The price tag of the Sebo put me off to be honest although a friend swears by it.. Its not like I use it that often !!!

I have a Sebo x4 for downstairs, a MIele superduper one, can't remember which but has hypoallergenic filters and bags, for upstairs and Henry in the garage for the cars.

All three are brilliant. The Sebo is gping strong at 6 years old , the Henry 3 and the Miele 6 months.

I have the DC25 Dyson (won on comp on here) i highly recommend it, it is a fantasic vacuum & worth it.

I love our miele...

belgo · 28/06/2008 18:21

We have a Miele S5210, it's got very strong suction and is very light and the bag is easy to change. But for some reason it gives off a smell of gone off cheese, even when it has a new bag, and that really puts me off.

Get a Henry

iamdingdong · 28/06/2008 18:36

thank you all very much! After much deliberation and consultation we are going for the sebo K1 pet, which I have found for £30 less than the john lewis price, along with half price bags and 5 yr guarantee so I'm happy, DH is happy as hoovering is his job so he can't do any this weekend, but gets a new toy to play with mid week - I'll let you know what he thinks of it!

is it Internet?
john lewis may match any other high street price lower!
