Went back into Morrisons today to speak to someone about the whole situation with the BBQ, the use-by date and everything that happened afterwards. I asked to speak to the duty manager because I wanted to actually get some answers rather than just leave it there. I explained what had happened and why I was concerned, including the fact that I had bought the BBQ from them and was now having to deal with all of this afterwards. I raised the idea of getting compensation from what has happened, especially because this is a serious health and safety issue. I expected them to take it seriously, but honestly the way I was spoken to was awful. They were dismissive, calling me stupid, and at one point they actually laughed while I was trying to explain my concerns. I found the whole thing incredibly rude and embarrassing, especially when I had gone in there calmly to raise a genuine complaint. I asked whether I could speak to the store manager because I wasn’t happy with how the complaint was being handled. I’m now going to formally report the staff members I spoke to and escalate the whole matter to management. At this point, it’s not just the original issue with the BBQ and the use by date, it’s the way Morrisons have dealt with me when I’ve tried to raise it that has really bothered me. DH says he’s going to sue. What should I do? All I know is that we are never shopping there again. Should have known they were like this from the start.
