Lockable box(es) for First Aid &/or prescription drugs?

I have a rather horrendous ear infection & suspected mastoiditis which is being treated with a scary selection of ABs & painkillers, which has a) prompted the concern & b) is making me too woozy to think what the correct search term would be!

I'm after a couple of sturdy, lockable boxes - maybe like cash boxes without the dividers - one to keep First Aid stuff in, & one for prescription/OTC medicines. At the moment we keep this sort of thing on the top shelf of the bathroom cabinet, but ds has taken up domestic mountaineering recently...

Any suggestions? TIA.

I got a lockable cash box from Woolworths to keep medicines in. Think it cost about £8.

You shouldn't keep First Aid supplies in a locked box.

OK, sorry Science teacher! I don't mean plasters, I mean sharp pointy stuff like tweezers to remove splinters, safety pins etc. Basically stuff we'd prefer the kids not to get at...

You're quite right. Must be even groggier than I thought!

Thanks for suggestion Hoonette . I'll have a look in Woollies.

how old are your kids?

I have a white metal lockable cabinet from Ikea. Unfortunately if you try to lock or unlock it quickly it jams. I call it the anti-panic lock as you have to turn the key very slowly and calmly....

FrannyandZooey · 22/06/2008 16:30

you can get cash boxes without the dividers, (or can take the dividers out) if that's the size you want

alternatively Ikea do a lockable medicine cabinet which goes on the wall
useful because you can fit all your aspirin and so on, plus things like condoms and other stuff you might not want the children getting into

hope you feel better soon

i had a tool chest which was lockable and had drawers etc. have now eschewed it for an as-yet-unbuilt ikea lockable cabinet.
would rather have a combination lock than a loseable key, but hey ho.

and i do need to lock the plasters away or the dc use them as stickers and ew dont have any when we need em.

This might do it actually...it just needs to be sturdy & lockable.

toolbox

Thanks for suggestions!

Lakeland do lock and lock boxes which don't actually lock as in with a key but they are fairly child proof.

that tool chest looks perfect.
