I am looking for a really good frother to make nice lattes, cappuccinos etc. We have a coffee machine/percolator for the coffee so just need something to make good frothy milk. What are the best ones on the market at the moment?

So if you try to Google it yourself, obviously all the sites that you see have paid to be there. And they’re accepting payment to say which one is best. I think this is more useful to you. BBC tested 25 of them, has affiliate links yes but doesn’t accept payment to “prioritize” them, and tells you exactly why they scored one highly via testing, then you can determine if you like what they say (maybe you want it to be stronger instead of faster so actually, their third choice is the best option for you personally).

You will be better off (happier in the long run) selecting one from this list and then checking reviews for it, rather than asking here from people who don’t know EXACTLY what you would prioritize in a coffee frother. I really hope this helps!

The best milk frothers for making hot chocolate and coffee

Make perfect hot chocolate or milky coffee by investing in a good milk frother for heating and steaming milk. These machines can be operated at the touch of a button.

We just have a cheap little immersion one from amazon. DH uses it a lot for protein shakes. I use it to froth milk

We’ve got a Nespresso jug which seems to work pretty well and is easy to clean. (We use an aeropress to make the coffee)

I have an ancient AA battery powered mini whisk from IKEA still going strong.

I have a Lavazza A Modo Mio , and it’s been great. It was a lockdown purchase but still going strong ( off to touch wood)

We have the Dualit one - works well, wasn’t particularly expensive, easy to clean.

Whichever you do end up buying, check it isn’t a faff to wash up or you will never use it. Obviously can’t go in the dishwasher as it is electric.

I have a Dualit one, it is excellent & a big enough capacity to do hot chocolate if you want to (some are quite small, so check).
The simple hand held battery operated whisk ones are good too.

I used a nespresso one for years which was pretty good. Switched to a proper sage espresso machine with steam wand now. No going back!!

You'll never get barista quality coffees with a frother, but if you just want a step up from instant then I'd go for the nespresso.

I’ve never put my nespresso jug in the dishwasher because it doesn’t seem to need it, but I’m pretty sure it can go in - it goes on a base and works by induction so the jug doesn’t have live electrics I think.

Ah, the dualit one definitely does and so can’t! It’s like a cordless kettle base. But the whisk part just lifts out and the jug itself is pretty simple to rinse out with soapy water.
