I sympathise, they are marvellous

There are always lots for sale at my local car boot sale - obviously people don't feel the same as us

I have a panasonic and love it

PeaGreene · 20/06/2008 22:20

Get a new one. go on.

I've never had one

But I've been reading the troll stuff and am exhausted. Would rather talk about breadmakers.

Quite fancy one. Is it really that easy?

KatyMac · 20/06/2008 22:38

Gosh so easy

Bread takes 2-3 mins to put together & tastes fab

I make at least a loaf a day (if not 2)

I have had 2 Kenwoods - they seem to last about 20 months so it is starting to become an expensive hobby ?

YOU DO NOT NEED A BREADMAKER. Making bread by hand is easy and imo much more satisfying than using a machine.

KatyMac · 20/06/2008 22:41

I can't fit it in

Between the 52.5 hr week

Planning a new business

& stressing

I need the breadmaker....honest

Carmenere - been looking into breadmaking books. Any recommendations?

PeaGreene · 20/06/2008 22:44

Carmenere. You're a chef aren't you. I'm guessing a few years of training makes you find certain tasks easy.

I'm still looking at a breadmaker.

Carmenere · 20/06/2008 22:44

Paul Hollywood/hollyfield or something has a wonderful book.

Carmenere · 20/06/2008 22:46

Well there is a possibility that I might find it easier than others but still, I promise, it is pretty easy to knock up a loaf and if you make soda bread you don't even need to leave it to rise.

Habbibu · 20/06/2008 22:47

Ooh - this one?

Habbibu · 20/06/2008 22:48

I can make bread, PG - nothing like as good as carmenere's, I'll wager, but it is quite easy and very nice.

Habbibu · 20/06/2008 22:49

and by that I don't mean "hark at my skills", I mean I have no training and it's easier than you might think!

KatyMac · 20/06/2008 22:50

I can manage profiteroles, trifle, fruit flan each happening about once every 10 days

But bread every singe day? No chance

Oh Carmenere do you know a nice mousse-y recipe with no raw eggs so littles can have it. All my mousses have raw eggs in

OP posts:
Carmenere · 20/06/2008 22:50

YES that is the one, it is really good(and I really fancy him) but there is something vvv attractive about a man who can make fabulous bread dontcha think?

Habbibu · 20/06/2008 22:52

Hmm, yes - he'd be awfully tactile. And then you'd have nice toast afterwards!

Carmenere · 20/06/2008 22:53

Katy there is a really easy way of making mousse that is simply melting chocolate, mixing in sugar, letting it cool a bit and then folding in whipped cream. No eggs and it is delicious.

KatyMac · 20/06/2008 22:55

That sounds nice

I guess I am just upset that my special choc mousse is not servable to the babies

I'll google & get proportions

Thanks

So....about my bead maker

KM, my breadmaker died a few months ago, a real cheapie very well used and i haven't found another bargain one yet, but honestly bread making by hand is really easy, really satisfying and my dcs love kneading too so more fun all round.

Love2bake · 20/06/2008 23:49

I have been using this since January 2008 and I am really happy with it. Good price too.
