A friend was telling me they do these 3 wheeled scooters for toddlers? Do any of you have those? How do you and your LO's like them? Am thinking of getting one for DS for his 2nd birthday as he was fascinated by an older boy's scooter! Can you link to one for me?

Don't get anything but a mini micro scooter - they are FAB. DS2 was nicking his big brother's at about 15 months and scooting properly for longish trips a couple of months later. You can get them from John Lewis or from the UK distributor. They cost about £40 but are WELL worth it.

Are they fairly steady since they have 3 wheels?

The mini micros are really nippy - kids can work up a real speed on them. They are pretty stable (though I've witnessed a fair few tumbles), mainly, I think, because their wheels are so low. And steering is done by using your weight rather than twisty handles. Sorry, Purplepillow, but in comparison the one's you are recommending are pretty rattly - and though DS2 has tried one, he can't quite work it as it is too big and cumbersome.

Spot the correction - I think I'm having a Pedants' Corner moment .
