I'd like to get dd the bunny alarm clock, but I don't want it to wake her. Can you set it so that the alarm doesn't go off but if she is already awake, she can see some indicator that she's allowed to get up?

No, design fault imo. There is only one setting for the alarm. WOuld be much better if you could set it as youve described..

Is there a competitor or is this the only one on the market?

Do you mean the bunny one with the pop-up ears? If so, on mine there is a switch so you don't get alarm going off - just the ears pop-up and eyes open. They do make a bit of noise doing that though which may wake her up if she's almost awake.

I just told dd she could only get up when rabbit woke up, this worked for quite a while but then she figured out that rabbit could be persuaded to wake up at any point...!

I have seen another one which has a picture of daytime scene and one of nighttime. so you tell child they can get up when daytime picture is lit-up, I think the picture features rabbits also.

Brilliant - thanks Dibertina. What's the day/nighttime one called?

So,on such basis you might be beter getting one of those plug timer things which you could plug a smal lamp into and telling her that if the light is on she can get up. No?

can't paste on this computer but Blooming marvellous website, kids sleep clock 81610

dil - you have to put it OUT OF THEIR REACH!!!!

they all have a switch on the back to turn off the noise, but yes, it does click when the ears pop up and eyes open...

my fave is when they fiddle with it during the day, and it goes off at 3 am, with the beeping....

hence OUT OF REACH!

I tried the daytime nightime one first- worked for a few days then dd started complaining that the light from it was too bright and keeping her awake so it went back.

Now have the bunny ears one which can be set without alarm and dd has slept through ears popping up a few times. However, about 2 weeks down the line I've decided this is going back as well- it doesn't keep her in bed, if she wants to come in at 6.30am she will and that bunny is not going to stop her.

I used fairy lights on a timer for dd which is a cheaper option. We just made the time the timer was set at a bit later over the period of a few weeks and eventually dd had to wait till 7am before coming through. We have now graduated to a digital alarm clock now and she can come through when it says 7:00.

this is the kid sleep clock from the previous poster

DragonsEye · 20/06/2008 19:28

SheherazadetheGoat · 20/06/2008 19:29

DragonsEye · 20/06/2008 19:33
