What oven would you recommend?

Need to buy an oven soon!! thinking about getting a gas hob so integrated oven is a must. Space for oven is 6000mm (altho hob is going to be 700mm).
Any recommendations for ovens to buy - or to avoid for that matter very welcome. Do people all have gas hobs and electric ovens? What features should I look out for? Is pyrolactic (?) cleaning a gimmick?

Electric pyroletic oven a must - say goodbye to mr muscle!

DON'T DON'T DON'T buy a Zanussi. Great washing machines, awful fridge freezers, worse ovens/cookers generally.

Most sane people probably wouldn't buy one anyway, but I got caught with mine, trying to economise with my new appliance. Now I wish I'd spent a bit more and bought something decent!

Try to get hold of a copy of Which. I will, when I manage to talk DH into buying a new unit...

I have recently bought a Neff built in oven (single one) and a neff gas hob. It's pyroletic and cleans itself when I want it to! It has made me some lovely cakes and has an amazing seal on the door so I'm hoping it's energy efficient.

I totally love them both.

DON'T get a SMEG. They look great but are shite. We have one that has a gas hob & electric oven, which I do like, but it's weirdly all over the place on temperature, the seal is poor so it lets masses of heat out, it's a nightmare to clean as the dual oven aspect means it has vents at the bottom as well as a grille at the back, and the fan oven element broke within a year - luckily John Lewis replaced that part, and the non-fan is separate and still worked. But I was a sucker, bought it for how it looked and lived to regret it. Our SMEG hood also broke within 2 years and our dishwasher's had 3 separate faults within 3. I'd never touch a SMEG product again.

My Mum is a huge fan of Neff, they're fab as bramblebooks says, so if the budget stretches next time, that's what I'll go for. Self-cleaning ovens are a dream I wish I'd had earlier. Most vile job in the kitchen, oven-cleaning.

We have a gas hob and single electric pyroletic oven SMEG and never had a problem with it. Seal on oven door is great too. In fact, oven door has 4 panes of glass which means that however hot, the oven door is never hot.

We also have a Neff in our old flat (which we rent out) and that is fab too.

I want a Neff. I think I need to start saving now

Loves Neff - paid more to get a few singing and dancing features, but tbh just the circotherm would have been enough and cost a couple of hundred less. I fitted it myself as well (though not the gas hob!)

We have a double under-the-counter Neff. Is fab. Triple A and A rated. Lots of different settings and timers. Heats up really quick and easy to use. Also dead easy to clean. (Strongest stuff I've used on it is washing up liquid.) Lights are also very good for allowing you to see how cooked your food is.
