I've been on a contract with Vodafone forever and go over it every month and end up paying a fortune
Need to sort this out, ideally get a better deal not bothered with which network, a new phone because mine is falling apart and if poss any freebies going. Is there a website or something that's best to look at? Hate the fact that my apathy means Vodafone are creaming off £££ for me each month and want to get on top of it now! Thanks

In general you can get better deals online than you can in the shops, the O2 website can sell the same things cheaper than an o2 shop for example.
I have an O2 online payasyougo sim card. I put £30 on each month and get unlimited texts, plus the £30 there to use for calls. The sim card was free. I had to buy my phone, but in the long run it's much cheaper, and then they offer upgrade discounts so I upgrade my phone once a year or so and get a new one for less than the retail price.

I've also found that, with Vodafone especially, if you call them and tell them you are going to change provider they very quickly come up with some much better offers than they would otherwise

Orange Dolphin 35, free phone, free broadband, 500 minutes per month and unlimited texts.

When I say free i mean included, its £35 a month, is an 18 month contract but generally can upgrade phone after 12.

Agree with PillockOFTC - when I told T-mobile I was leaving to get a better deal elsewhere, they reduced my monthly tariff from £30 plus to £8.99 (disclaimer - I hardly ever use the phone, except for the odd text).

o2 are crap now, they used to give you pretty much what you asked for on upgrade but now they are on a new system with budgets and if you want a 12 month contract it severely limits you.

Not just sour grapes tho, their customer service has gone downhill too. I would defo see what you can get out of Vodafone and have no qualms at all about being as ruthless and money grabbing as they are

definatly tell your current provider you are going to leave them as they can always give u a better deal of whats on offer. Look around 1st to see what other companys are offering and mention what u could get from them when u phone.

I was with t-mobile and they wanted to charge me £120 to upgrade to the phone I wanted. Orange were ofering it free to new customers on a similar contract to new customers. I told T-mobile I was going to move to Orange and they changed their mind and offered it to me for free too.
