My 20+ year old le creuset needs replacing. I’ve just seen there’s a sale at JL but I don’t have spare cash at the moment. How often do they come up for sale. Never again??

What have you been doing to it? Mine is still going strong after 30+ years, I was hoping to outlive it 😂

Google Le Creuset Warehouse Sale and that will allow you to sign up for notifications. The outlet stores are handy too

MrsLizzieDarcy · 25/03/2026 16:38

We've got a local outlet near us, it's worth checking those out if you've got a local one. But it does come up for sale regularly from JL or other sites like Amazon, and Homesense seem to have ongoing regular stock in certain colours. My original set of pans are 35 years old and I've got a deep pan draw full of casserole pans! Their roasting dishes are all really good too, I've got a full set in the teal colourways, looks fab on my carbon grey range. I rarely pay full price on them.

Just to add, the main branch in Andover may be able to help you if the damage hasn't been caused by neglect. They can refresh parts, replace etc. Cheaper than new pots & pans. Contact their customer service team who are fab.

I've got 3 casseroles which were wedding presents 37 years ago, still going strong. A few years ago one of the knobs cracked and they sent me a replacement free of charge. The inside enamel cleans up well with barkeepers friend if it gets too stained.

I wouldn't bother with Le Creuset anymore, it's massively overpriced even from the outlet shop. Saucepans just buy good quality stainless steel, casseroles - I would buy from Procook, the Denby ones look ok, Sainsbury/Argos ones are good value (the one I've got needs the lid juggling to get it to sit flat), the Aldi ones are cheap for a reason - incredibly heavy even compared with LC and not well made.

I’ve just had a look and it’s not much of a sale.
I have a massive casserole pot that I have had since the 90’s and still going strong.
i also have a set of 3 pans and I have to admit that when they are filled with veg and water, I can hardly lift them these days! They still look like new so I can’t really get rid of them Grin

I think mine was possibly a wedding present to my late parents, and I used it just yesterday. Could you have it re-enamelled instead?

AreYouBrandNew · 26/03/2026 16:20

Thanks everyone. We’ve managed to burn the base so much that it’s caused thermal shock and the enamel is coming off (we’ve probably ingested some 😬). I contacted LC and they can’t repair and won’t replace.

20 years is pretty good going. We do love it so will try outlets. I thought JL sale ok though. Some were 40% off. We’ve got good stainless steel pans. I’d just like one big LC casserole.
