I'm rather fancying this, as I'm about to take DD out in DS's old pram as may have to collapse for the bus but it is the most basic of basic buggies. Also we're hoping to have a few days by the sea later on this year and I will need a new buggy - won't I?!!

So anyone got one of these and tell me what you think? The reviews page sound very favourable but wanted to hear more!

Get one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im a pramaholic and look at new prams all the time. I had the pilko but as DS was getting bigger wanted something more lightweight to take on holiday(any excuse) I looked at the zapps but didnt like them as they dont recline plus they sound rickety on bumps so after reading thousands of reviews I bought the zia. Its fab. Its got a nice wide seat without being a wide buggy, it reclines flat and folds easily and small. When it is folded its easy to carry too.
The only minus points are it reclines via a strap which you have to fiddle with and its hard to steer one handed. I had problems on holiday steering with 1 hand while trying to drag my suitcase behind.

However despite that I would still recomend one.

I have the pilko atm too - this would be my second buggy for quick trips out and bus journeys plus hols etc...

We went out in the rain today and DS's old buggy has no raincover so now I'm even more convinced one is very much necessary.

Thanks Kbaby

Didn't like the Zia, didn't like the Zapp. Nasty, nasty, nasty! If the Zia had better handles instead of the crappy plastic ones it does, and better quality wheels, it would have been ok.

flossish · 18/06/2008 19:55

I've heard that about the wheels. But live in a city so thought it might be ok for us?

Weve had ours since March and one of the back wheels fell off while on Holiday in Ibiza a fornight or so ago. However this has never happened here and I put it down to the fact that the pavements were terrible and kerbs huge which we were always going up and down plus the fact that I had a huge heavy bag on the handles and tried to get up the kerb at a strange angle. They just clipped back on and as I was holding the handles no harm was done other than the wheel dropping off.

Its great - so light and soooo easy to collapse...a great stroller...have a P& T's buggy, Mamas and Papas and other lightweight buggy but much prefer the star due to it being so compact and light...I would get it !

mustsleep · 19/06/2008 14:59

it's a good buggy

we have it for dd (2) and it's one of the lightest easiest tofold buggies we've had- and we've had a fair few

just niggly bits about it are

  • can notpush with one hand
  • can get to the basket of it is laid flat and not easy to get to it when seat is up either
  • the recline strap is pants
  • does not sit up fully upright
BexieID · 19/06/2008 16:42

I used my Zia and Zapp for a 5 min walk to toddlers and back, and a quick walk around the town, lasting no more than an hour. As I said, I didn't like either one. Take the Zapps handles, wheels and have a better recline facility that sits right up, then they would be great, lol.

I think I am sold! Dp is on side too now (for his own selfish reasons ) so I will probably order one tonight! Thank you all - I will beware the wheel!

i know bexie you would think that quinny had thought how well they would sell and howmuch they could mark them up by if only they made them recline
