Laminators...why should I get one?

I'm a stationery addict - I love the stuff. A laminator seems like a wonderful addition to my collection...but can I justify it? Well, why would I have to when I can have other mumsnetters justify it for me?

(And which one?)

Laminators are also great for recipe cards!

Never worry about spills again!

You can do child art projects with a laminator too - make a place mat for each family member with bits of glitter in or souvenirs from your hols - tickets, menu, etc
Or make 'stained glass window panels' with tissue paper design laminated and then stick the whole thing to the window.

Ahem - lowers voice - when I needed to do a load of 'one-off' laminating, I ordered one through our office suppliers, did all the laminating and then sent it back so all I had to pay for was the plastic pouches. Will this be the next 'grapegate'? Laminatorgate'?

I love my laminator (el cheapo from Robert Dyas). I've used it for lots of different things that could have gone unlaminated, but somehow, laminating makes them so much more important. My Sunday School kids really take note of laminated bumph - they know I mean business.
