its the hotpoint wd865a washer dryer, I'm moving but the kitchen is small so can't fit seperate washer, plus no outside space to dry clothes.

it is 1600 spin and has a silent feature, anyone have it? or any other you can reccommend don't want to spend more than £400 really.

I've got this one. The wash cycle is definitely quiet though as herbie tea says, the spin isn't quite as silent. I tend not to use the dryer too much unless it's been really wet outside and I need to dry things quickly. The 1600 spin only works on some programmes though - some are 800 and you can reduce the speed on most of them too I think (I tend to only use 1 or 2 programmes regularly!). I've had it for more than a year and paid around £460 for it so £370 all in sounds pretty good. Hotpoints don't always have a very good reputation but I've had no problems with this one or the previous w/d I had for 8 years before that.

Our washer dryer is a Zanussi. It's lasted us 12 years so far, with 3 service calls for minor issues. We'd buy another Zanussi.

Another vote for a Zanussi. Mine came with the house and IIRC it's around 12 years old too, given the literature with it. I've been using it for 2 years without the slightest sniff of trouble and it has to work very, very hard! An ex-colleague had the same one and she also found it to be really reliable. If and when it dies I'll be replacing it with similar (if they still make them!).
