Or indeed already have one...

What would be your USP? And what do you think would be your major threat?

My USP would be British made. It wouldnt be high fashion but you know you could go there and get a solid, reliable white t-shirt that wasnt see through and wouldnt sag and had french seams.

Obiously, that is expensive so the 2 main threats would be to get people to buy there to begin with and then to come back when they have already bought my perfect t-shirt so dont need to replace it for 3 years.

Have you not just described what Community Clothing already does?

I would create a line for people with lipodema. Trousers cut more generously in the leg, so ironed creases stay creased and slim legs don't turn into skin-tight skinnies. Workout leggings with a bit more room in the calves. Socks with wide cuffs.

Practical and affordable girls clothes that are more shades then pink/yellow/white and don't all have frills/fussy bits.

Boys clothes that aren't all shades of mud/blue.

Basically lots of simple clothes in every shape shade/pattern/print.

I would also include uniform basics all year round. Can't find grey tights in dds size anywhere most of the year. Lots of shops stop selling it in high street shops during the school year.

I feel like John Lewis used to do all this but it's starting to deviate again, next isn't bad but my local has closed!! don't want to have to shop around to find a single dress that my daughter can wear.

Organic cotton, wool and linen clothes solely for short women! With arms that are properly short, and a full range of jeans styles and knee length dresses.

Sustainable clothes for hourglass figures - after all you can have a small waist as well as big Brad Pitts.

CreativeGreen · 10/02/2026 14:16

Not a very U SP but it would be as sustainable as possible, with small runs and a limited range and fabrics as high quality and natural as I could.

Not for short women specifically, but a pair of size 8 trousers would not be too long for an average height woman, as they usually are in most places.

It would be simple and classic but it would always have a nod to what's current - if wide-leg joggers with a side stripe are everywhere, for example, we would do them but somehow you'd know these weren't just M&S wide-leg joggers. But we wouldn't suddenly have a plethora of weird blouses with wide collars or tie-on capey bits like everywhere has at the moment

There would be no Oliver Bonas style 'fun' items, and the colour palette would be mostly neutrals with some stripes and the odd floral print.

It would be a bit like Hush from about 2015, with a smidge of Wyse, Me & Em, Baujken, the less consciously French-chic elements of Sezane, and the less tenty boho elements of Olive.

CreativeGreen · 10/02/2026 14:27

Oh and there would be no animal print, ever

BoredZelda · 10/02/2026 14:33

Smart Comfy. No seams or fripperies. Good looking clothes that don’t irritate.

And for short people.

Sweden are really good at this!

Tops/dresses that have different sleeve length options
