Happyland or Duplo?

Hello,

With Christmas coming up I wanted to get my nearly 2 year old some new toys that are stage appropriate and she can get some good independent play out of. She is a social bunny so loves playing with figures, dolls, animals. She also has a birthday coming up so I have a good budget to spend on toys between us and family.

Shes already getting a duplo deluxe brick box and the farm set. I then came across Happyland and ended up getting her the cottage from Vinted and ended up giving it to her early as she was really in need of something new and I wanted to judge how she likes it before investing in more.

She does enjoy it but I do think we need to expand further to get more play out of it (there’s only so many times she can put her girls to bed, make them sit at the table or take a bath😅).

So I’m wondering whether I’m better going with Duplo in terms of world expansion or Happyland?
looking at the village set and train set from Happyland and would look for similar in Duplo.

Also - if you know of something similar (chunky, suitable for under 3S) but wooden that would be great as I feel I’m filling my house with more plastic after having all aesthetic wooden toys…

please let me know your opinions on better play/longevity!

thank you ☺️

Duplo for longevity definitely. Much more open ended and can be combined with Lego as they get older.

I have an 8 year old that will still occasionally pull out the Duplo instead of the complex Lego she has. So it definitely has longevity. Plus has a resale value!

Mobilo is also great. All of these toys are good for fine motor skills (pre writing) too.

Duplo has more play value and encourages more creativity than happy land, but it's nice to be able to mix the two up together, the happy land figures are lovely.
