looking for a highchair
Chickyboo · 22/01/2005 18:34
Can't decide which highchair to get..please give me some feedback
flashingnose · 22/01/2005 18:38
Does it need to fold away? How much space do you have? Wooden or plastic? One that turns into a little table/chair or not?
pixiefish · 22/01/2005 18:40
I've got this one . fantastic apart for not being able to take the straps off to wash them so I have to so it with a bowl on the chair.
got this one at my mothers ok as a second chair but a bit inflexible to get her in and out of. Also she could tip it over if she had something to push against. On the plus side it'll convert into a little table for her

I'd like to get one that converts into table n chair, but they don't look very supportive.

I got the same one as pixiefish last week it's really good so far, wish they would make the straps detachable too!

Everyone I know has the Stokke Tripp Trapp and not one of them is happy with it! It has no tray which is the main problem. We got a Kuster , not because of its looks (which are nice) but because it fulfilled our needs - not too many nooks and crannies to get crusty with food, washable cushion covers, removable tray, etc. Really like it. Only downside I can think of is suction bowls and toys don't stick very firmly to the tray because it's not plastic!

if you want a chair that is EASY to clean, pulls up to a table ,has an optional tray, and comes apart for storage then ikea do one for about 11 pounds.
the downs i can think of..its not padded, reclinable blah blah .the reason it is so easy to clean is because it is so simple.
i thought it was really unsightly...but when we started using it i loved it.now that ds is 16mnths even when he wriggles its easy to get him in!surely a plus.

Second the Ikea one. It's great - clean, comfortable, can be dismantled and taken to grandparents.
I have 2 for my 2 and our local nationally acclaimed expensive restaurant has them too. So they must be seen as a design classic!

I've got this one:
Svan
Very pleased with it: a doddle to clean, encourages great posture and converts to adult chair.
I bought mine from Mothercare but I've noticed that they sell them on Kiddicare now for £130'ish.
