I've set up an above ground pool. It has a filter. I'm guessing i need to use chemicals to keep it clean. Can anyone advise on what to buy and where to get it from please?

And how many days will it take to fill the blimmin thing? I fear the whole street is currenly experiencing low water pressure because all the water is being diverted into my monstrosity delightful bright blue garden feature

I don't know specifically about a pool, but we have a hot tub. We add a tablet containing a Bromide salt twice a week, this keeps the water in a fit state.

We also check the pH and have chemicals to adjust this as requited.

Once a month we used a 'shock' product to remove the excess bromide.

Filter gets cleaned with a specific product once every two weeks.

We have dip sticks that help with the use of chemicals.

We get all of this stuff from the local hot tun supplier....I'd have a chat with them

We have one of these and yes they do need some sort chemicals to keep the water clean.

We went to a swimming pool shop and they recommended one of these floating things with chemicals inside. You calculate the amount of water in the pool and then twist it to give out the correct amount of chlorine.

You take it out and leave it in a bucket of water when you are in the pool and pop it back in when you get out. Keeps the water nice and clean and means you don't have to keep refilling the pool (which takes hours for the one we've got)

Yes that's the sort of thing we use.

Hi, we have a 10ft above the ground pool and found that Aquablanc Pool Water Treatment is the best. You put one sachet in per week. I ordered my from John Lewis but do know ToysrUs does stock it. It's £30.

While we are on this subject does anyone have an inground pool with one of those glass covers that slides back? We are thinking about one but they are expensive and we were wondering if anyone can recommend them and which company they used. Sorry to hijack but not brave enough to post this on main board.
