As far as I am aware, there are three to choose from:

Mamas & Papas Duette
ABC Design Zoom
iCandy Pear

Does anyone know of any others?

Thanks very much.

There is another one - I've seen it, but I can't remember the make! It'll come to me...

Hoonette · 05/06/2008 14:44

PrettyCandles, I have my hopes up now!

I am waiting here with bated breath

This isn't what I was thinking of, but have a look anyway.

castille · 05/06/2008 14:49

bebe confort make one

saw a lady with one yesterday

MrsBadger · 05/06/2008 14:51

I used to pass twins on my way to work in an Inglesina Domino (on PrettyCandles' link) - looked comfy but was colossal.

castille · 05/06/2008 14:53

ah but it's not available in the UK apparently

sorry

PrettyCandles · 05/06/2008 14:55

Yes, that's the one. Can't find it on the BebeConfort site, though.

PrettyCandles · 05/06/2008 14:56

Well, that would account for it, Castille. I suppose the mum I met must have imported it.

Hoonette · 05/06/2008 14:56

Thanks for all your help - I have now added Inglesina Domino to my list.

Castille - I think I know the one you mean, and for a time I was considering going to France to look at it. My husband pointed out that this idea was far beyond madness, hence me compiling my new 'available in the UK' list.

Bebe Confort Twin Club

Eponyme · 06/06/2008 10:23

You can buy the bebe confort one from www.jusonne.co.uk

link here

Having owned one of these albeit briefly, I would say they are very good, the suspension is amazing and they fold so easily. But, only buy if you have somewhere to store it like a garage/porch as its quite a big beast! Thats the reason I sold mine on.

dizzydixies · 06/06/2008 10:24

this one?

Hoonette · 06/06/2008 13:48

Wow - thanks, Eponyme, I didn't realise they were available in the UK. Although I guess I won't be able to go and see one...

Well, I'm off to see the Inglesina Domino in a couple of weeks, so I feel my research is going well!

i had a Inglesina Domino it was fantastic, fab for the babies/children they can see each other--talk to each other, steal each others toys!!!

once i got used to length of it, it was soo easy to push.

If you use a Jane Powertwin with the carseats the babies can face each other. It does look a bit odd though, like pushing a small boat . Not possible when they graduate to the toddler seats though.

stripeybumpsmum · 06/06/2008 19:58

We've had out Power twin set up like this - toddler in the back, baby in car seat in the front facing each other. However, just the right distance apart for toddler to realise he can swing his legs to make a great noise when thumping the underside of his sister's car seat.

Facing each other great when awake but if you have an age gap that means they are likely to sleep at different times for different periods personally I don't think you will get as much benefit as you would like.

glamourbadger · 06/06/2008 21:33

Agree with stripeybumpsmum - I can't see the value in two facing seats. It looks cozy for babies but they are hardly aware of each other. Toddlers would enjoy the novelty but it will invariably descend into a big scrap-fest!

Definitely recommend the tandem option though - I have been through six (!!) double buggies and found the side by side ones much harder work.

Hoonette · 07/06/2008 06:41

Well, here's my thinking.

There will be a 17/18 month gap between my kids. The oldest one currently has a buggy that goes completely flat, and he takes all his daytime naps in it. Whenever he's tricky to get to sleep at night we also use the buggy then transfer him to his cot later on.

If he's still doing this when the new baby comes, I would ideally like a pushchair where both babies can lie flat and sleep like angels. As my hallway is too narrow for a side-by-side, this means a looong tandem!

So the facing-each-other thing is really just a nice bonus, but it tells me which pushchairs will allow both seats to fully recline

If you get stuck for suggestions TAMBA (the twins association) does a double buggy guide - if you're not a member you can buy one here. The last copy I had trialed around 40 double buggies so you might find what you're looking for.

Hoonette · 09/06/2008 08:07

Thanks very much, Glamourbadger - just ordered one.
