ADVICE NEEDED ON BEST GROUP ONE CAR SEATS!
Schmauskin · 19/01/2005 19:26
Daughter fast approaching 9kg, so need to get a bigger car seat - any reccommendations?
Frizbe · 19/01/2005 19:37
Britax?! does the job for us and its one of the cheaper ones! about 89.99 at the last count?
poppy101 · 19/01/2005 19:43
We have also got a Britax, we got ours on special offer at Kiddicare including free postage. My parents are borrowing it in their car for the moment but we will have back as soon as our baby has outgrown the travel system car seat. They last up to 4 years and you can check on Britax website to see if it is compatiable with your car. My parents had a Britax about 25 years ago for me when I was younger and really recommended that we bought the same. It is good and sturdy and lasts.

You need to make sure it will fit securely in your car first and foremost. Britax have a list of which cars their models fit on their website. There is a MN review list here but there may well be more recently introduce models missing.

if u have a new car with isofix, then go for the britax isofix duo. safest car seat about!!
www.britax.co.uk will tell u if their seats will fir in their model of car.
i like the first class si, and the eclipse (both non isofix)
WigWamBam · 19/01/2005 19:58
Another vote for Britax - the Renaissance is excellent. Kiddicare is worth checking out as they often have special offers on last season's colours. Do check on the Britax website whether the seat will fit your car though.
Schmauskin · 19/01/2005 20:08
Reading you loud and clear - BRITAX then!! BUT, which model???

I think ours is an Eclipse. (Pg brain is obviously setting in early as DS has only been in it a couple of months). I'd go and look in the car but DH isn't home yet (DS being asleep like a nice baby)
misdee · 19/01/2005 20:17
go to britax site and click on the fit finder.
then check which seats u like the look of (eclipse, first class, elite, renaissance?) and see if they fit in the car.
if one does, then check kiddicare to see if they have a good deal on lol.
Schmauskin · 19/01/2005 20:27
Just done Britax 'fit-finder' but results for
Skoda Fabia = 0, so will call customer helpline tommorrow.
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR ADVICE, GOODNIGHT x

hi
i would recommend the maxi cosi priori. just bought my second one today. have had the other for about a year and it is easy to fit, straps adjust easily and don't twist if you know what i mean. it was also rated very good on the safety results somewhere. not sure what the website was but i think it was off a link on mn. sorry to go against the flow!
