Will someone please make a decision for me on what pram I should get, I can't decide?

And it's driving me buts as DD3 is due in 6 weeks time!

Here's the saga:

  • will have 4yo DD1, 2 1/2 yo DD and newborn DD3
  • DD2 will walk but is liable to run off so needs wrist strap at least, also if I am on my own would be very hard pushing single buggy with 2 toddlers walking
  • was going to get P&T with idea I could use it for 6 months then sell it and get a single and buggy board when DD2 is about 3
  • then thought P&T was waste of money so thought about getting a Cosatto Duet Lite and another single and keeping both in boot then DD2 could have a double if need be, then sell double and just have single
  • not that keen on the baby being underneath on the P&T plus DD2 is quite big would her jumping around squash the baby and would she be able to fit under hood
  • also we are in Scotland it will be winter soon enough so it will be cold and wet DD2 would be better undercover
  • what else? we don't do that much walking most of the time we drive then get out the car and walk so a boot buggy would be best. Not that keen on side by sides

So wise mumsnetters what do you reckon?

not the sport version but I haven't had a chance to measure her

she fitted under the hood but there is an observation flap in it and her hair was poking through it

twas like my 6ft8 brother trying to drive a corsa with his head sticking up through the sunroof lol

we don't have stuff to raise £600 either but if I'm at least seen to be making an effort towards it

do you know any scottish suppliers that would have one even to try?

sweetkitty · 28/05/2008 15:18

dizzy - this will be my 5th pram in 4 years, although not like some pramaholics on here DP is already p-ed off I want another pram! Men don't understand though.

Chances are DD2 will walk and DD1 will want pushing in her chariot (thats what happens just now).

duo skywalker

kitty this one is similar to a mountain buggy BUT takes a car seat OR a cot

hi Justjules

dizzydixies · 28/05/2008 15:35

okey dokey - will stop looking for a local stockist then!!

I quite like the look of that duowalker thingy, similar to the mountain buggy but the MB didn't take a car seat which annoyed me

can't find any reviews for it though which makes me a bit

pooka · 28/05/2008 16:07

I haven't read the whole thread, but please no to the cossato duo thingy. I had one when dd was 2.2 and ds newborn and it was hellish. Just awful. A nightmare to push, really hard to turn, like pushing a tank. And not pushable with 1 hand, which would make the dc1 thing more difficult if you want to do hand holding.

Was grim.

babyjjbaby · 30/05/2008 20:41

the cosatto duet lite is vry small if i was u i would get a second hand mothercare phoenix cos they r cheap and imo very nice and if u don't use it fo long then u wouldn't of lost much money u can get them for bout £60 easily second hand then get a luvly single buggy for new baby and maybe buggy board

Hello all,

i'm new here and would be so grateful if i could get some much needed advice!
I have been going absolutely bonkers trying to figure out which pushchair/pram/buggy/whatever to get for my firstborn, to the point I even have recurring dreams about it!

Can anyone tell me what they think of, or if they've used a Jane carrera pro or jane carrera nomad pro? Is it worthwhile for a 0-3yrs?

I find silver cross abit huge and heavy if i'm solo on a bus, bugaboo's generally too pricey and the bugaboo bee is abit narrow. I'm hoping for a one fits all! is this too much?? I live in london, don't have a car (ie will be on foot or public transport mostly), and i don't know what store stocks what brands...ack! How do i try out these contraptions before buying them? sigh.. haaaalp!

babyjjbaby · 02/06/2008 09:09

i don't think u will get a buggy which does everything u need it to do for example i have a coassato stroller for going on the bus and a mamas and papas pramette for general use a mothercare trenton for the beach don't really need this tbh and a mamas and papas mpx travel system which my ma bought me so have to use it and it is luvly but big

if i was you i would go and have a look at the mamas and papas pramette as they r very good and fold small they face u they are fine for upto bout 4yrs old tried and tested lol u can get alot of shoppong on it and they do fold up smal enough to get on the bus hope this helps a bit

suhfyera · 02/06/2008 10:42

thanks for the info!
do u know where I could go to have a look at these mamas&papas? They don't stock them at mothercare, and i'm not sure if toys r us have them..? I've only seen them online so far (like the jane ones as well, where do they stock them? frustration....!)

babyjjbaby · 02/06/2008 18:16

if u go on the mamas and papas website and ring them up they will tell u where the nearest store is mine is easton bristol but they r quite a few around where do u live

suhfyera · 02/06/2008 20:10
