Browsing through their catalogue there seems to be so many good things in there. However I must resist all temptations to buy everything. So tell me, fellow veteran Lakelander customers, what is the product you have bought from there that is a must have ?

australian soft eating liquorice
I live 20 mins away from a lakeland shop, if LL do not send overseas I can always help out!!!!

I got the can and plastic bottle crushers for Christmas (they were on my list!)

gingerbear · 18/01/2005 12:18

piff, I so agree about the liquorice.
(warning, do noteat a bag full in one sitting - you will spend the rest of the day on the toilet!!!)

my fave things are:
sock hanger
heavy duty pegs
art deco double walled teapot (expensive but beautiful)
all the organiser type stuff
green plastic bags that keep fruit and veg fresher for longer.

Fudge from the Fudge Shop in Penrith...

Tommy · 18/01/2005 12:44

have they stopped doing the cutters then? We got them about a year ago

Tommy · 18/01/2005 12:45

can't see them on the site - sorry to disappoint Metrobaby!

The washball doesn't have to be filled with detergent - it has these little blue balls in which produce some sort of ionic reaction that cleans the clothes (sorry - can't get any more technical than that!). One of those things that you're not sure how it works, but somehow it does! So yes, it is a bargain!!!

Thanks for the info on the washballs.I have been tempted to buy one for years, but wasn't sure if they really worked.I will make a mental note to order one.

I love reading the Lakeland catalogue-it allows me to indulge in my fantasy of having a beautiful, organised, spotless home.

The toasted sandwich bag - it really is magic - you put your perfectly normal sandwich in it into your toaster and hey presto! a perfect toasted sandwich without having a Breville - and they go in the dishwasher too. Mmmmm

Easyleave, sheets of interleaving on a roll, brilliant for wrapping cheese, separating layers of food, like brownie in a tin, if it gets that far! Wrapping chicken breast fillets, chops, fillets of salmon etc individually to freeze in a big bag,a so you can remove just one!

Has anyone used the Zyliss® Mandoline chopping device. I have seen it advertised on tv and think this is the same one on Lakeland. Looks very good if a bit expensive.
Also the 'stack & vac' storage bags - anyone have these?

gingerbear · 19/01/2005 15:09

I have the vac and stack bags - huge ones for the winter/summer duvets. They are great, and fascinating as you vac the air out and watch them shrink.

wilbur · 19/01/2005 15:13

Ditto loads of these - stayfresh longer bags, brilliant as we get an organic veg box and these bags keep it nice much longer, burger maker, foil and cling wrap, pickabags. And munchy seeds, hester, yes! I dropped my last pot all over the floor so now there are seeds between all my floorboards.

I also love the flexible muffin and cake tins, brilliant for baking, but also the big muffin one (for 6 muffins) is exactly the right size for freezing toddler/child portions of things like pasta sauce and casserole. I fill it up and then decant the blocks into a bag and then can just take them out as needed - saves defrosting too much.

I confess, I am a Lakeland addict...
