Would anyone here admit to owning and using a deep fat fryer?

and if so, which?

do you like it?

would you recommend it?

yes, i am pregnant and the hormones are everywhere.

but we live in the sticks and just tonight, i was depserately craving chips and DH is at work till after the chippies all close.

so i go to thinking, if i had a fryer, i could make chips, fried chicken, falafels, batter fried courgettes, fried green tomatoes, etc.

Yes I'vr got one but I don't use it that often as dd prefers pasta but use it to cook spare ribs and onion rings the most

expatinscotland · 21/05/2008 23:42

oh, god, onion rings!

which one do you have?

is it a faff to clean?

do you like it?

For me I woul only have one if I had a huge kitchen and loads of money and possibly a kitchen porter. I think they are valuable pieces of equipment but should be only used very occasionally and ergo are not worth the hassle and waste of oil and the effort of cleaning ect.

Carmenere · 21/05/2008 23:43

Spare ribs?? really? I have never heard of that before

expatinscotland · 21/05/2008 23:44

not got a huge kitchen or a porter.

but Lakeland has ones that aren't too bad to clean and my mum's asking what DH wants for Father's Day .

Oh go for it then, why not, a few chips won't kill anyone

expatinscotland · 21/05/2008 23:47

my kids and DH are skinny as rakes.

i'm pregnant and hardly eat, except for mad cravings.

The one I have is similar to tis one

It is really easy to clean as it all comes apart and the bowl lifts out.

My friend works for a chinese take away and told me thats how they cook theirs, so I tried it and they are much tastier that way than cooked in an oven

expatinscotland · 21/05/2008 23:51

oooo, i'm liking this, Purple. thanks!

spring rolls!
