...please think about signing this petition please.petitions.pm.gov.uk/Carseats-stage1/ Having read a bit more on the subject (which I saw on here a few weeks ago), I now would love to see if it's possible to bring about a few changes which would offer people more choice when moving on from baby seats. See what you think? Not suggesting that everyone should go rear-facing or anything like that, but just that want to get the alternative in more shops and people more informed. So lets see just what MN can do. (The petition has 179 signitures at the moment.) And finally, check out www.rearfacing.co.uk for tonnes more info if you have a few minutes. Thanks.

Just to say again that this petition needs 200 names before the PM even looks at it. It's not far off that if anyone else would like to help.

I have been campaigning since summer 2007. My website www.rearfacing.co.uk has been live since January 2008. I have a small team of mums (and one dad) that are helping out. There is a mailing list people can sign up for and some leaflets and things that can be downloaded and taken to local shops/toddler groups/parent evenings/HV etc. to add some weight when discussing this issue.
Britax makes all their seats in Andover. The rear facing ones are shipped to Sweden and then imported back to the shop in Milton Keynes. Crazy, as pointed out in PP.

I have signed and joined the facebook group, I've also mailed the link to various friends who are expecting, or have babies. Hope that will help with the signatures

I wanted one of these 2yrs ago but couldn't find in the UK at the time and couldn't afford to buy in Sweden and ship back.

dd is now 2.5yrs and average size of a 4yr so in a Group 3 seat which I am not happy about but she is too big for anything else now.

Signed!

We used to have the Britax First Class, which is usable for longer in the rearfacing position, so, my Kids were rearfacing till about 15-18 month....! And whilst that isn't brilliant, at least they weren't forwardfacing as early as most other Kids seem to be....!

Good grief i have six children, #7 due in 5 months and this is the first i have heard about rear seats.

Am outraged nothing has been marketed over here.

Well done on the petition.
