@BetterWithPockets 48 hour update (and probably the last one unless anyone asks).
It is now mounted to the wall, which was very simple to do. There is a horizontal bar that mounts behind the bracket that holds the actual vacuum which enables all the tools to be stored right next to the vacuum. Most do this, but not with the level of flexibility. I could adjust everything in multiple directions enabling placement to be exactly where I wanted it. The vacuum does stick out from the wall a fair amount when stored and charging, but this isn't a problem for where ours is sited. It might be if you wanted to put it where there is through traffic.
Also, the lead that connects to the mains is easy to fit, and is separate to the additional charger supplied, so it is possible to charge the battery while the vacuum is in the docking station, or to remove the battery and charge it independently. This enables a spare battery to be charged either at the same time the vacuum is docked, or while it is being used. Very handy, although I suspect the separate charger is faster than the docking station.
I have vacuumed several times in the last few days, having had my own dog and several visitors, and I am still pleased. I have emptied it several times, and cleaned the filter which is very simple. Dog hair, in my experience, eventually blocks everything, but everything appears to be easily accessible and hence easy to clean.
The other nice touch is that the long attachment with the rotating brush stands up by itself when not attached to the vacuum (when using the crevice tool), so can just be left on the floor under the docking station, or wherever you happen to be. And the rotating brush is easy to remove in the event of any tangles.
