Husband 40th birthday gift

It’s husbands 40th birthday in 3 weeks and I have no idea what to buy him as a gift. We have a 2 year old and no childcare so experience days are pretty much out of the question. I am also pregnant at the moment so we are trying to save for maternity leave. Budget being very tight makes all options seem a bit rubbish. Would need it to be under £100.

If money was no object he would love us to spend a night or two away somewhere pretty in a cabin with our little one. He is also a gamer but doesn’t play much these days due to being busy working/parenting etc. He is dyslexic and doesn’t really do books. He likes useful gadgets. Previous gifts I’ve bought him include a portable projector device and a stand up hammock. These are stuff he asked for.

I am so stuck for ideas. Any suggestions?

Forgot to mention we are already having a massive meal out with his friends and family the weekend after his birthday so another meal out seems pointless. Plus, like I said no childcare.

Have you got a coffee machine. Mine love great as a present. Otherwise buy him a better version of something he loves and uses, wallet, belt etc?

Just imagine getting a belt for your birthday though 😀

We have got a coffee machine. I mean he has always wanted one of those fancy ones that froths the milk and is like a proper barista coffee machine but those are way more than £100 and the nespresso one we got was £120 a few years ago so that’s not within budget.

I guess a new belt or wallet could be a good gift just not very…. I dunno 40th big birthday type present but maybe I’m overthinking it.

Yeah, that’s what I mean. It’s not very exciting but then I’m not criticising the suggestion because I’m not able to come up with what would be exciting 😂

Maybe he won’t. But I’m not one to be made a fuss over. I probably won’t have a massive meal out with friends and family for my birthday, it’s not my thing tbh. I’d happy with a date with husband or a family day out with our kid and some fluffy socks and a nice book as a gift. Husband is very much a fan of a fuss, even though he pretends he’s not!
