Baby monitor - Angelcare or Tommee Tippee Suresound Deluxe Monitor

Hi all,

Would really like your opinions on either. Am thinking of moving DS to his room to sleep in his cot for naps very soon (he sleeps with us at the moment in an Amby). Problem is our bedroom is right on top and his room will be right at the bottom of the house. No chance of us hearing him in the day or at night without a monitor! Would like to invest in a sensor monitor as he is PFB hence the two options above. Both pretty much do the same thing - TT is more expensive by about £20.

Question is I know the Angelcare does not work with a wooden spar base so I will need to get a plywood base for the sensor pad. Does anyone know if this is the same for the TT one?

Any general views from people who have owned either? Both seem highly rated so far!

Thanks, Ax

Can't advise on the TT one, but we have the AC one and love it.

We used it with dd (till she was around 18 months, then swapped to a Tomy one as ds then took over the AC one) and also with ds.

DD still has the Tomy one now at 3yrs and tbh we will contiue with it, the same with ds.

Yes, the AC one does need a flat base, but if you take cot base measurements to B&Q they will measure and cut it for you..I know as I did it myself.! Got tired of waiting for dh to sort it lol.!!

It gets tiring when the alarm goes off randomly if ds moves off the "sensor" AND initially gives you the scare of your life BUT now we are used to it and don't automatically think ds has stopped breathing iykwim.....
It gives us peace of mind however..

I would recommend it 100% and in fact my friend recently got one for her dd.

Thanks Shhhh! That's really helpful. They both have glowing reviews and if the TT one can be used with a slat base (which I doubt it can be seeing as it works on the same principle as the AC one), it might be worth the £20 more!

I am tipping towards the AC one. Cheers!

I had the AC for dd until she was about 3 and now have the TT one for ds who is 15 mnths - both great but overall I prefer the TT as the I seem to recall more false alarms with the AC - we use the TT one with a slatted base. I also like the night light and the room temperature display on the TT.

angel,to sort the base for the cot is a nightmare to think about but honestly its easy to sort at your local B&Q. and will cost a fraction of the £20 extra for the TT one...

Depends if you prefer less hassel .
