Which food processor?

I know this has probably been done before but I couldnt find any threads when I did a search so I was just wondering which food processor you would recommend?

My last one - an ancient Kenwood finally gave up the ghost and I really need to get a new one but I don't know whether to invest in a Magimix or just get another Kenwood or similar.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

taramac, I asked this a while ago on here - I didn't have a food processor and was asking for recommendations. The majority vote was Kenwood, with some suggestions for magimix and Kitchen Aid.

Someone recommended looking on ebay too.

I eventually bought one on ebay - an ORIGINAL 1950's Kenwood! I think if someone dropped a bomb on the house, everything would be gone, except this Kenwood, sat there pristine amid the rubble!

Anyway, suffice to say, I love it. The accompanying booklet is HILARIOUS - woman with sprayed on hairdo, cardi, pearls and pinny whose life has been transformed through Kenwood ownership !

On advice I splurged on a large Magimix and I hate it. Other than it's size, which is admittedly huge so I can make two cakes at a time etc., it's SUPER heavy to lug around, the attachments are only so so, and the worst part is it only has one speed, which makes some things I like to make turn to mush. I had a medium priced Bosch before and wish I had just replaced it instead of trying to upgrade.

The magimix really only has one speed? Oh that would just annoy me - you had a Bosch one before - what was it like?

Am really wary of spending all that money on a magimix one.

I love my Magimix but it's what I'm used to. I tend to use the pulse button and give things short bursts if I want to be sure of not over-processing. One day I'll get a Kitchen Aid ... drool!

We use pulse on our Magimix and find it excellent. Sorry you don't like yours Tartegnin
