NANIA Car Seats - any info on safety?

We have been given a Nania car seat (new). Not wanting to appear ungrateful or look a gift horse in the mouth but it's not one i'd have considered myself.

Does anyone have any info/experience of their safety?

i would'nt go for one as the buckle bit broke on my friends.

That's worrying, fairy.

Any safety test results available?

Thanks Shelley.

I've been reading past threads on here about covers coming loose. Have you had that?

We have one for FIL's car. Not had any problems with it but yes the buckle is flimsy compared to say a Britax.

Ceolas · 08/05/2008 23:53

We were going to buy a Britax First Class but a kind family member bought this as it rear and forward faces. It would be our main car seat for DD (8 months)

I feel torn as there is no way I'd compromise her safety but don't want to cause offence by not using it. It's obviously way cheaper, but I don't know if ££ equate to safety/comfort here

If you don't want to use it but don't want to cause offence you could always say it doesn't fit properly in your particular car ... blame buckle crunch or something!

FWIW I did have a group 0 Nania car seat and it was absolutely fine. We live in London though so don't use the car that much.

I'd originally bought a First Class but then found it didn't fit securely rear facing (absolutely fine now he's forward facing) and didn't want to spend a fortune on something that would only be used occasionally for a few months.
