Condenser or Heat Pump dryer?

So I've just bought my first flat and in my rented accommodation I had a washer dryer and it was awful, so I bought a washing machine but I'm looking at getting a dryer but I'm not sure if to go for a condenser or heat pump which one would you recommend and why?

Alternatively, is there anywhere you can get a dryer second hand?

Condenser as apparently a heat pump one relies on the heat in the room to dry the clothes, and nowadays we don't use the heating enough to use that method.

Heat pump dryers take longer but are much more efficient- cheaper in electricity usage and better for environment

Heat pump - so much cheaper to run!

Having had both, heat pump.

Ours is in the garage so they certainly don't require warm air...

Heat pump it is! Does anyone have any recommendations of the best brand?

We have an AEG heat pump dryer and it's great. Takes about 2 hours to dry a full load (8kg) costs about 35p a load to dry. A condenser would cost about 1.40 to dry.

Our Samsung one is great. No complaints. A nifty app too to tell me how long is left on the cycle.
