AIBU to be looking for a rear facing pushchair for my toddler?

I'm thinking about throwing financial sense out of the window, and getting a rear facing buggy for 18 m.o. Ds. He's recently become an attention hungry little toddler. I'm imagining that a rear facing he'll feel loved and centre of my universe - and hence will find soon-to-arrive baby brother less of a threat.

Dh reckons most kids are growing out of rear facing pushchairs by 18 m.o. . That is, if I find one not too expensive that'll physically fit him, he'll find it odd not seeing the view.

Anyone have happy/unhappy 18mo rear facing pushchair passengers?

its up to you if you think its worth it or not?

a few rear facing buggies that my dd still fits in at 2.2years (shes a size 18-24 and sometimes a 2-3 so averaage size for her age) are
m&p skate, bebeconfrt loola, bugaboo cameleon, out n about nipabout, icandy apple, m&p pliko switch, stokke xplory.

the only things with wanting a rear facer to fit an older child is that unless you can pick up a baragian on ebay then they are usually more expensive than say a maclaren stroller. but if you are prepared to ebay it after then if you pick a poular make then you are bound to get a fair bit fo your money back reselling on ebay, here or the freeads.

i am after one too! my dd is nearly 14 months but she's been ill recently and lost ALOT of weight she's down to 18lbs-my recent buggy has broke and so need to get another. she just doesn't seem secure in little buggies as the straps don't go tight enough and as i walk 3ish miles a day with her to work thought it'd be nice to chat along the way!
i think i want a linear freeway as she sits better in traditional pushchair seats! only problem is i don't think it'll fit in my dp's car!

If you're having another baby, then I'd go for a rear facing that would then suit a board. We bought when dd was 2 a cameleon because I wanted rear facing plus carrycot for ds when he was born, PLUS the wheeled board is fantastic. I haven't regretted it for an instant.

I might be selling my loola limited edition red star if anyone is intersted

WE had the loola for the same reason, although ds was much younger when we switched. You can switch the seat between front/rear but the wheels sit proud of the frame so it's a b*gger to get through narrow spaces. Actually, it's a steering nightmare but I think newer models may have improved this. good concept though!
