Where is a good place to buy printers from?

I need to buy a cheap laser printer for occasional use, so far my best price is from Amazon but is there anywhere else I should try as well? I've looked online at PC World and Currys too but their laser printers are a bit more than I want to spend.

TIA

Try IJT Direct. They sometimes have offers on things at really low prices.

Dabs.com has a good range. If it's for business purposes you can always negotiate with PC World Business if you ahve a store locally - they've always matched the cheapest price I've bene offered elsewhere.

Thanks Roskva and W&P.

I think I'll go with the Amazon one which is pretty cheap. I only really need it to print postage and boarding cards from my laptop as our printer doesn't have a USB connection port and my laptop doesn't have the old-style connection port. It's getting really tiresome having to transfer things over to dh's computer in order to print, not least because his computer is pretty old and slow and sometimes just refuses to open a document and hangs instead.

I do feel like starting an AIBU thread about the outrageous cost of toner cartridges. That printer is £42-ish and the toner cartridge for it is £47-ish.

You can get toner cartridges refilled you know? Do you have a Cartridge World anywhere near you? They refil my Samsung ones for £25 when new ones are £50. Lots of others do it too though, ask about. I've never had any quality problems and they last longer.

That's good to know, thanks W&P, there is one not too far from me according to their website. That printer comes with a 1,000 page cartridge, which ought to last me quite a long time (given that I'm only printing postage for my book swaps and I only fly once or twice a month).

Well found LL, I didn't see it when I looked. They also have a HP printer at a similar price. Any opionions about which might be better or are they about the same?

I have a hp photosmaet c5180 great printer but refills very expensive and can not be refilled because they have some sort of vaccum in them.

I bought the Samsung from Dabs, thanks littlelapin. I even unpacked it and set it up by myself (I know it's not hard really). Getting it out of the box single handed is a bit of a feat though, I had to adopt a sort of orangutan posture in order to hold the box with my feet and pull the printer out with my hands.

Anyway, I'm very pleased with it and "pah!" to my dh.
